The following day, Julie Williams went to work, leaving Helen Blair at home to rest for another day. By noontime, Mrs. Hoffman and Oliver Hoffman paid a visit.

Knowing that Mrs. Hoffman would be visiting, Helen had made herself presentable in the morning. Although she was not as polished as the last time she saw Mrs. Hoffman, she still looked rather invigorated.

Upon hearing the housekeeper's announcement, Helen descended the stairs.

In the living room, Oliver and his mother sat in armchairs. On the tea table was a light green thermos, presumably containing soup that Mrs. Hoffman had cooked. Mrs. Hoffman sat there, sipping tea, exuding elegance and grace, her attire nothing short of opulent.

With a smile on her face, Helen approached them and greeted, "Hello, Auntie."

Upon hearing Helen's voice, Mrs. Hoffman looked up and paused.
