Calm before the storm

The defence awakeners use the most spells. They do the covering for the group. They are like defence magicians in other games. They use their magic power to cast barriers and shields. They are the only ones who can learn new skills by awakening and absorbing the knowledge they have picked up from loot.

But there are other things they can do. The loot from monsters can even drop attack spells, and they can learn that, too. The only reason it is named a defence awakening is that you can only learn protective spells in the early stages of your growth because that is the only thing low-level monsters drop. The only exception to this is when you have somebody supporting you who can slay higher-level monsters and give the loot to you, or you buy it off of them.

Jack has been training here for ten years and is only Tier 5. He has made no progress, but he has made a lot. Your strength doubles after every Tier. So when it said that Tier Three was superhuman, you had to think about the peak of humanity. They are several times stronger and more intelligent than an average human.

He is training here because he bought a special watch from the system, and that watch shows when the apocalypse will start. It is still loading, but when he goes outside, he will see how long it will take. This watch lets you know the apocalypse starts from that world, and because he is currently not in that world, the watch cannot sense when it will begin.

Jack was walking in his castle, looking at the things he had bought, and was still equally amazed at how amazing this sight was. The castle walls are white, with many sculptures and artworks on them. The castle was about ten kilometres high, and that was because Gods are a lot bigger than humans.

He didn't have servants in this castle yet because he didn't want them. He could buy them from the system, but he liked the random gacha more than buying them directly. He already bought ten of them because he thought that was all he would need, but if he desired to, he could buy a lot more.

He was now standing in the garden section of his castle, where there were a lot of rare fruits and trees. He could recognize the celestial moon berry, the phoenix flame fruit and the Elysian star apple. The celestial moon berry is a luminescent blue fruit and normally can only grow under the light of a full moon at a high altitude or, for example, a mountain range. The fruit gives you a permanent buff in perception and constitution and, when eaten, gives you a special bond with the moon, which you can cultivate faster.

Phoenix flame fruit is normally found in scorched valleys in a volcanic region. It resembles a fiery red orb with golden streaks on top. Consuming it gives the person fire and heat resistance and significantly boosts energy and vitality.

The Elysian star apple grows only in hidden caves in a forest setting. It is rarer than the two other fruits. This fruit has a shimmering golden skin adorned with star-like patterns. It can give someone a vision of their future, boost insight, and master a skill. It also provides the one who ate it a blessing of good fortune and serenity.

There were more fruits, but these were the ones I could recognize. I can buy the knowledge from the system, but I first want to try them before knowing what they are because it is more fun and challenging like that.

Every fruit in this garden isn't poisonous and is entirely safe to eat. The only precaution is that you may experience pain because your body has to get used to the sudden changes the fruit brings. For the rest, it is entirely safe to eat.

...

Jack and Gabriel had spent a long time inside the castle, but they thought it was time to leave and return to the real world to check on Amaterasu and Kali's progress.

While not much time has passed, a month can be a lot. Knowing Amaterasu, that month wasn't wasted, and the progress with the cult was probably much farther along than he knew or could imagine. Even though the cult grows and the buffs he receives are growing, too, it doesn't help him with his Tiers.

That can be fortunate or unfortunate. So, to explain, every time someone does a lewd thing with him or is intended to do so, like praying, he gets a buff—a temporary one and a permanent one. The permanent one is small, but when a hundred thousand pray to you daily, that racks up a lot of numbers and boosts him a lot.

And because of that, his strength is that of someone equal to that of Tier Eight, and it will only grow in the future. Now that the apocalypse hasn't started, Gods don't have a way to interfere with this world. I don't know how Ela did it, but she bypassed that system and put me here. Now, back to the subject. Gods can't influence this planet before the apocalypse, but after the start of the apocalypse, it is a free game.

They still can't descend into this world because it is too low-level, but they can choose representatives who can communicate with them. The reasons that Gods set their sights on this planet can be numerous, from a low-level god who wants to grow stronger and attract more believers to higher-level gods wanting this world's world tree. Everything is possible.

This world is also unique because this apocalypse does not originate from this universe but is attacked by another. Usually, this universe's ruler must stop that because it is his duty to protect the universe. He also couldn't stop this attack. It is like it is bound to happen, and feeling the twist of fate of this attack and knowing it was coming, even if he tried to stop it, he just looked away and let it be.

He will gladly sacrifice a low-level planet if it means that he could still be the ruler of this universe later.
