"People of the capital!" Kael began. "Look at them—these are the ones who claimed to rule by divine right, the ones who sat on thrones while you starved in the streets. They called themselves sacred, chosen, untouchable. But today, we see them for what they are."
He gestured to the bound and trembling Arbiters, who shrank under the weight of the crowd's eyes. "Liars. Cowards. Parasites. They fed off your labor, your pain, and your sacrifice. They built their palaces with the sweat of your backs and the blood of your families. And what did they give you in return?"
The crowd erupted in angry shouts, voices rising in condemnation of the Arbiters. Kael let the noise linger momentarily before raising his hand again to silence them.
