Year 800 of the Common Era.

In this year, supernatural cycles brought Earth on a collision course with an alternate dimension and the consequences of such a visit were much more drastic than the times it has happened before. Beginning in Japan, an outpouring of otherdimensional creatures known as «aradama» sparked a silent war between them and humanity that has been ongoing since that century. The only people with the power to oppose these interdimensional creatures are warrior-maidens given the name of «Toji».

Already a millennium has passed since the dawn of the war but the passage of time has done nothing to alleviate the fighting; a status quo has been maintained throughout time. However, this would all change when Japan held the 132nd Annual Swordsmanship Tournament. With that as a stage, a chain reaction of events began rippling throughout the island nation of Japan and these ripples do not merely stop in the archipelago———

Valkyries and Blade Dancers

In the current month, the very peak of the Asamayama is coated in snow. If one were to look around from the zenith of the mountain, they would certainly feel as if they are on top of the whole world. On certain days, they wouldn’t even be able to see down the mountain as the heavy cloud cover obscures the view. However, on this day, the sky was crystal clear and with the afternoon sun as a witness, the ground began to crack. 


From the crack, a hideous groan bellowed upwards from the bowels of the earth as clouds of gas began billowing out of the crack. The ground also began shaking again as another stronger earthquake struck resulting in the creation of more cracks. The snow cover began rising slightly as the gases escaping from below worked their way through while the heat released by the gas began melting the snow. The earth continued to shake as more and more cracks shattered the ground. 


The angry dragon of primordial fire has awakened.
