Year 800 of the Common Era.

In this year, supernatural cycles brought Earth on a collision course with an alternate dimension and the consequences of such a visit were much more drastic than the times it has happened before. Beginning in Japan, an outpouring of otherdimensional creatures known as «aradama» sparked a silent war between them and humanity that has been ongoing since that century. The only people with the power to oppose these interdimensional creatures are warrior-maidens given the name of «Toji».

Already a millennium has passed since the dawn of the war but the passage of time has done nothing to alleviate the fighting; a status quo has been maintained throughout time. However, this would all change when Japan held the 132nd Annual Swordsmanship Tournament. With that as a stage, a chain reaction of events began rippling throughout the island nation of Japan and these ripples do not merely stop in the archipelago———

“First, our guests, especially the daughters of Emiri and Manami, need to know the full story of the disaster,” Kazuyuki started. 


“I suppose it would be best if I explain,” Yuna said. “The Great Disaster of Tokyo Bay was the only recorded disaster in history in which an [aradama] was given the designated rank of EX.” 


“That much we know from our historical studies in school,” Noa interjected. 


“Indeed, Noa-chan, but that isn’t the full story. The massive [aradama] was put down with a team composed of eight Toji. One of them was my older sister, Nanae Origami. Two of the others… were Noa-chan’s mother, Manami Kuzunoha, and Suzuran’s mother, Emiri Fujimiya.” 


At that, all of the young Toji whipped their heads to turn to Suzuran, making their confusion evident in their voices. Manaka and Alice had already known about this connection, although they did not truly believe it until now. Alice started, “So… Just to confirm, Noa-yan’s mama is Manamin and…”
