Too late

Inside the room, Sharisha felt the weight of her husband's heavy heart. "That's Kia's father, and he thinks the worst of his son," she thought, reflecting on the strained relationship between Kini and his father.

Recalling the night they first met, Sharisha couldn't help but remember Kini's actions towards her, the forceful abuse she endured, and the guilt she saw in his eyes afterward. Yet, despite the unspoken tension in the room, she couldn't help but feel pity for him. "Kia has been through worse himself," she mused silently.

In an attempt to comfort him, Sharisha rubbed his shoulder gently, offering silent support as Kini folded her clothes and packed them away. Realizing he owed her an explanation, Kini finished packing her wardrobe of dresses before turning to face her, his expression filled with sorrow.
