Unfortunate Encounter

The speed of the train in the Pokémon world was quite fast. After traveling for most of the day, they were now very close to the city of Mauville.

As Yuga was enjoying the scenery outside the window, suddenly three people came and sat across from him and beside him. There were two middle-aged men and a woman who seemed to be around twenty years old.

Seeing the woman with dark gray short hair sitting across from him, Yuga felt extremely frightened.

Damn, isn't this J, the active Pokémon hunter from the anime? Did I accidentally board some sort of horror train? Otherwise, how could I run into this troublesome character?

Moreover, isn't this Hunter J from the Sinnoh region? How did she end up in the Hoenn region?

The woman was holding a Pokémon egg in an incubator in her arms, and Yuga even suspected that she had stolen that egg.

With a heart full of questions, Yuga felt a sense of unease deep within. This was just plain bad luck. Finally venturing outside, and now he had to run into such a troublesome person.

Yuga didn't look at them the entire time, to avoid any trouble. He just waited until they arrived at Mauville City and quickly got off the train.

But just because Yuga wasn't looking for trouble, it didn't mean that trouble wouldn't find him.

Right as the train was about to enter Mauville City, suddenly a loud roar came from outside the train, followed by intense explosions and shaking.

Hearing this sound, one of the middle-aged men sitting next to Yuga nervously said to J, "Miss, it's coming after us! What should we do?"

Hunter J, with a calm expression, chided in a low voice, "What's there to be nervous about? Act according to the situation!"

What more did Yuga need to understand? It was clear that this group of people had caused this commotion. It was like trouble seeking them out.

What could Yuga do? Pretend he didn't hear anything, of course!

Soon, the outside roars became more impatient, explosions grew stronger, and the train became more unstable. The carriage was in chaos, with everyone screaming.

And trouble found its way to Yuga after all. Looking up, he met the gaze of a massive, ferocious face outside the window. His heart nearly stopped from the shock.

And the moment this face appeared outside the window, the three people sitting next to Yuga quickly moved away. Without a second thought, Yuga also hurriedly left his seat.

Not long after Yuga left his seat than a thick column of fire burst through the train window and engulfed his previous location.

One of the middle-aged men said, "Miss, we'll cover you. You need to get out of here!"

His words had barely left his mouth when the roof of the carriage was ripped off, revealing the entire form of the owner of that massive face outside.

It was a gigantic, enraged Salamence, its blood-red wings spread wide as it roared furiously into the carriage, its crimson eyes showing that it had lost its sanity.

Everyone in the carriage was screaming, but the airflow created by the high-speed train tore their screams into fragments.

Yuga gaped in shock at the Salamence hovering above him.

Yuga thought that these people were clearly out of their minds. They were practically courting disaster, and who else would they attract? They managed to provoke an Elite Level Pseudo-Legendary Pokémon, and now they were in way over their heads.

Yuga suddenly thought of the Pokémon egg in J arms. Could it be the offspring of this Salamence?

Yuga was quite certain he had figured it out. Otherwise, why would this Salamence be so angry? No wonder they were being chased by it everywhere.

At this moment, all Yuga could think about was how to escape. The scene had descended into extreme chaos. Hunter J figure had disappeared, leaving only the three middle-aged individuals who remained in place and released their Pokémon.

Yuga was just about to release Chimecho to help him escape when the battle had already begun. Given his fragile state, he was afraid that even a slight touch from the rampaging Salamence could be fatal.

Chimecho had just come out when an iron rod propelled by a violent explosion unexpectedly struck Yuga leg. Fortunately or unfortunately, it hit his leg, and the pain was excruciating, as if his leg had been broken.

Enduring the pain, Yuga said to Chimecho, "Chimecho, use Psychic to carry me out of the carriage!"

Yuga believed that if Chimecho hadn't learned Psychic before they set off, he might have met his end within this carriage.

Perhaps because Chimecho had just learned Psychic, she wasn't very skilled at using it yet. As she carried Yuga, they swayed unsteadily. Yuga worried that he might not be killed by the enraged Salamence, but rather get knocked out by his own Pokémon.

Soon, Chimecho managed to carry Yuga far away from the battlefield. The Salamence, now irrational, was busy dealing with the three middle-aged individuals and didn't pay any attention to Yuga, the small fry.

From a distance, Yuga saw many passengers who hadn't managed to evacuate in time suffering from the aftermath of the battle. Several of them had perished in the fiery breath of the Salamence.

This was the first time in Yuga two lifetimes that he had witnessed death, and it was happening right in front of his eyes. Looking at the charred bodies, Yuga felt extreme discomfort in his stomach.

Yuga had considered helping the people, but with only his Pokémon at level thirty-something, charging in would only result in his own death, and it wouldn't make much difference. Thinking about it, he decided against it. It was simply beyond his capabilities.

The train was still moving forward without stopping. Yuga had been carried away by Chimecho and was now flying further and further away. In a blink, the sight of the train had disappeared from view.

In a forest, Chimecho finally landed and gently placed the injured Yuga under a large tree.

Yuga rolled up his pants leg to inspect his injured leg. He realized the injury was worse than he initially thought; he couldn't tell if it was a break or a fracture, but it was definitely bruised and swollen like a club.

Yuga suddenly realized that he had forgotten something so important amidst all his preparations before leaving – he forgot to pack any healing items.

Sigh, it was a lesson learned from inexperience. What was he going to do about his leg now?

"Chimecho, can you try using Heal Pulse on my leg?" Yuga asked.

He had seen Chimecho use Heal Pulse on injured Pokémon before, but he wasn't sure if it would work on humans.

Chimecho nodded and used Heal Pulse on Yuga mallet-like leg.

Strangely enough, while he couldn't immediately tell if it was healing his leg, the excruciating pain was gone. The pain relief was top-notch.

Gratefully, Yuga said to Chimecho, "Thank you, Chimecho."

"Chime... Chime..."

Chimecho shook her head, indicating that there was no need to thank her.
