The Enemy in Slateport City

"It doesn't matter who I am, but it won't be so easy for your uncle to get out." Steven, who now understood the situation, turned to Touya and spoke.

If Touya knew that just because of his few words, he had dashed his uncle's hopes of being released, he probably would have regretted it deeply.

"Whether your uncle can get out or not, it's not up to you to decide. Just wait and see what happens!" With that, Touya pushed through the crowd and disappeared in a hurry.

Yuga knew that there were likely more people involved in this matter than just Kiryu, as the video evidence captured both Misaki and Kiryu mentioning another name: Edward! However, without concrete evidence, Yuga couldn't take action against Edward!

Yuga was puzzled. Although he and Edward, the owner of Truly Adorable Day Care, had some disagreements, they were insignificant. So, why would Edward go to such lengths to target YoYo Day Care?

After thinking about it for a while and failing to come to a clear conclusion, Yuga decided not to waste any more brain cells on it. When the enemy comes, we'll defend ourselves.

Returning to the shop with Steven, he asked, "What's the whole story?"

Although Yuga had briefly explained the situation to Steven earlier, Steven still had only a vague understanding of the ins and outs of the matter.

So, Yuga went into detail about the events, including his conflicts with Touya, how Kiryu bribed Misaki, and how he plotted against Kiryu.

Yuga knew that Steven was straightforward and disliked conspiracies, so he didn't hide anything from him.

After listening to Yuga's account, Steven was furious.

"I never expected our Devon Corporation to have such people. Rest assured, I won't let anyone from Devon Corporation meddle in this matter."

Although Yuga had known that Steven was the young master of Devon Corporation, Steven had never told Yuga before. So, when Steven said "our Devon Corporation," Yuga didn't react in any special way, as he wasn't inclined to put on a show of surprise or amazement. Thankfully, Steven was too focused on being angry to notice Yuga's unusual behavior.

While Yuga felt pleased for taking down Kiryu, at a villa in Slateport City, a middle-aged man was leisurely sipping tea and feeling content.

Because he believed he had effortlessly obtained the valuable Pokéblock formulas from YoYo Day Care, he thought he was quite clever.

At this moment, he still had no idea that his partner had been arrested for their involvement in this matter.

As he hummed a tune while drinking his tea, one of his subordinates entered.

"Boss, Mr. Sturt would like to see you."

Upon hearing the report from his subordinate, the middle-aged man quickly put down his cup, stood up, straightened his clothes, and said, "Please, bring him in!"

Sturt was a high-ranking breeder and the only one under the middle-aged man. Normally, he had great respect for Mr. Sturt and wouldn't dare to be disrespectful.

Soon, his subordinate led a man in his fifties to the middle-aged man.

"Mr. Sturt, why have you come? Please have a seat." The middle-aged man warmly greeted Mr. Sturt. "Is there any progress in your research on the Pokéblock formulas?"

Mr. Sturt calmly sat across from the middle-aged man, showing no hint of nervousness or respect just because he was in front of his boss.

"Boss, are you sure the Pokéblock formula you gave me is correct? I followed the instructions, but I can't create Pokéblocks as described. Instead, I've been getting some unsightly waste products!"

Mr. Sturt's words made the middle-aged man's heart skip a beat. Could the Pokéblock formula be fake? No way!

"Mr. Sturt, could you possibly be mistaken? How could there be a problem with the formula?" The middle-aged man's face turned ugly.

Upon hearing the middle-aged man's doubts, Mr. Sturt's expression soured. "Are you doubting my abilities?"

"I wouldn't dare, I wouldn't dare! How could I doubt your abilities! You're a well-known figure in the breeder industry! You've misunderstood, I was just speaking casually, just speaking casually!" Worried that Mr. Sturt was displeased, the middle-aged man quickly apologized.

"Alright, I won't waste any more words on you. I'm busy, and I don't have time to waste with you. I'm leaving." With that, Mr. Sturt stood up and prepared to leave.

Seeing the situation, the middle-aged man quickly said to his subordinate, "What are you standing there for? Quickly escort Mr. Sturt out!"

After Mr. Sturt left, the middle-aged man swept all the cups and teapot off the table onto the ground, creating a loud crashing noise.

"Fake, it's all fake! Shimizu Yuga, Kiryu, well done! You dared to deceive me with fake things. Just you wait."

At this moment, the middle-aged man still thought that Kiryu and Yuga had conspired together to frame him.

This situation illustrated that relationships built solely on interests are fragile; the ship of friendship can capsize.

Of course, the Pokéblock formula Yuga provided them was fake, but it was a high-quality imitation.

Both Kiryu and the middle-aged man were astute individuals – one was a CEO of a large company's branch, and the other was a breeder. Therefore, Yuga had removed only the crucial parts of the Pokéblock formula, leaving the rest untouched, as he gave it to them.

To discern the authenticity without actually trying to create the Pokéblocks required a significant level of expertise.

In this invisible confrontation, Yuga was slightly victorious!

Now let's switch to YoYo Day Care.

Around noon, Yuga had organized a sumptuous lunch with Audino almost prepared. He gathered all the staff to celebrate the victory and also invited Steven.

Yuga raised his glass of juice and said, "Thanks to Misaki, we were able to successfully thwart the enemy's schemes this time. Here's to you, Misaki!"

Misaki, who was usually a bit rough around the edges, was uncommonly bashful and said, "I didn't contribute much; it was mainly thanks to the boss's strategy."

Yuga waved his hand and said, "What kind of strategy did I even come up with? Anyone could have thought of it. The real key to our success was your acting. You managed to deceive Kiryu, and that's what made this plan work!"

Out of nowhere, Windy interjected, "Yeah, great acting!" and everyone burst into laughter!

Windy had also watched the video that Misaki had recorded. Her acting skills were truly exceptional.

Suzuki Koen joined the teasing and said to Misaki, "If you can't make it in the breeder industry in the future, you might become a big star!"

Everyone was in high spirits, joking around. However, Steven sat on the side, eating silently. Then he added, "Yuga, do you have any Audino left? Could you give me one too?"
