The progress of Great Flygon and Linoone brought immense joy to Yuga, especially the Great Flygon.
For Pokémon to advance to the pseudo-Elite level was exceedingly difficult, with countless stumbling blocks along the way. The fact that the Great Flygon could make this advancement was a testament to its diligent efforts. Of course, its exceptional potential played a crucial role as well.
Pokémon like Noctowl, which advanced to the pseudo-Elite level with its yellow potential, were exceedingly rare. If it hadn't been for its fortunate encounter with Celebi in the past, it might not have been as simple as that.
Furthermore, if it weren't for the limitation of a yellow potential, Noctowl might have already reached the Elite level by now, as it was only a step away from it.
After exchanging greetings with Yuga, the Great Flygon adjusted itself into a comfortable position and closed its eyes once more. Linoone lazily rolled over, continuing to bask in the winter sunlight.
Compared to coastal areas, Verdanturf Town in the Hoenn region had significantly lower temperatures. Even though places like Sootopolis City and Lilycove City still felt like spring, Verdanturf Town was already beginning to experience the cold.
Yuga couldn't help but shiver, wrapping his clothes tightly around himself as he walked into his shop.
Back in the store, Yuga retrieved the Sweet Honey he had obtained from Vespiqueen and brewed a hot cup of tea for himself and Suzuki Koen. Then, he sat in the shop, absentmindedly watching the customers come and go.
During this period, he had been researching meteorites, but his progress had been fruitless. He needed to calm down and think things through.
Sitting in his chair, cup in hand, Yuga stared blankly at the entrance. That's when he noticed a familiar figure entering the shop.
Standing at the entrance and surveying the interior, the person's eyes lit up when they spotted Yuga sitting at the central table. They walked straight over to him.
Suzuki Koen, who had initially thought to greet the newcomer, realized that this was someone familiar to her boss. She stepped back, continuing to attend to other customers.
The newcomer reached Yuga and sat down across from him, a look of genuine delight on their face. "What a stroke of luck to find you here so quickly!"
Yuga, surprised, asked, "Why are you here? Aren't you working in Sootopolis City?"
The newcomer was none other than Beidou, the Trainer Yuga had met on Illuma Island, who worked at the official Pokémon Day Care Center in Sootopolis City.
Upon hearing Yuga's question, Beidou sighed and replied, "You're right. I quit my job."
"Quit?" Yuga was greatly surprised.
Working in a League-affiliated institution like that was akin to having a stable job for life, especially in a higher-ranking Day Care.
Beidou smiled wryly and explained, "Yeah, it couldn't be helped. After those few people returned, they made life miserable for me. They even conspired with other Trainers at the facility to ostracize me. I was just a newcomer, and I couldn't bear it. Besides, there's a girl on our team who happens to be a high-ranking executive's daughter. After she returned, she seemed to have said something, and she kept targeting me!"
Trainers like Beidou, who spent most of their time away from the central regions, tended to have a bit of a rebellious streak. Faced with such treatment, he couldn't endure it any longer.
Yuga felt a sense of disdain for the behavior of those people and tried to console Beidou. "Leaving a place like that is no loss."
Even within the League, there were inevitably some bad apples.
Beidou nodded in agreement and said, "You're right. If I hadn't just joined the facility, resigning might not have been this easy."
Yuga nodded in understanding.
No organization would easily let go of a Trainer they had invested a substantial amount of money in cultivating. Only someone like Beidou, who had just joined and had not yet deeply involved himself with the organization, could leave so easily.
Yuga smiled and asked, "What made you think of coming to my place?"
Beidou replied, "I'm a lone wanderer, and since I left Sootopolis City, I had nowhere specific to go. I remembered you mentioned having a Pokémon Day Care here, so I thought I'd drop by. Surprisingly, it was easy to find."
"Well, it's true. I'm the only Pokémon Day Care here, so it's easy for anyone to ask around and find it."
Beidou teased, "I didn't expect you to be quite popular here. As soon as people heard I was your friend, they enthusiastically guided me here."
Yuga proudly stated, "Well, that's the advantage of being handsome. You can't envy that."
Beidou protested, "What do you mean I'm not as handsome? Clearly, I'm more handsome!"
Yuga waved his hand dismissively and said, "Alright, alright, enough joking around. What are your plans from here?"
Beidou sighed and replied, "I'll take it step by step. I'm still a fairly capable Trainer, so I won't end up starving on the streets."
Indeed, Trainers had various means to earn money, whether by taking on missions, accepting job offers, or embarking on adventures to find treasures. It was these opportunities that attracted many to the profession.
Yuga then suggested, "How about coming to work at my place?"
Beidou was taken aback by Yuga's sudden proposal.
"Work here? Are you serious?" he asked.
"Of course, do I look like I'm joking?" Yuga responded seriously.
Beidou considered Yuga's words carefully. Turning to look around the shop, he asked, "But what can I do here? You run a Pokémon Day Care, and I'm neither a Breeder nor a businessperson. Am I just going to be a doorman?"
In fact, Beidou had initially considered seeking refuge with Yuga because he believed that Pokémon Day Cares often trained their own Trainers. However, upon arriving, he had abandoned that idea, as YoYo Day Care didn't seem any different from a regular small-scale Day Care, and it didn't appear capable of supporting Trainers.
Keeping Beidou here was actually a recent decision for Yuga as well. He had long considered establishing his own powerbase, given that as his Day Care grew, he would encounter more challenges. Without his own faction, he would face increasing difficulties in the future.
However, this idea had never fully matured, and he had only accepted Arata Sena as a member, not dedicating much time or effort to training him.
Beidou, on the other hand, was different. He was a professional Trainer with skill and experience. Entrusting the task of building his own faction to Beidou would make Yuga's life much easier.
Thinking along these lines, Yuga became even more determined to persuade Beidou to stay.
