Noctowl breaking through to the Elite level undoubtedly deepened the foundation of the YoYo Day Care. In the future, anyone thinking of provoking the YoYo Day Care would have to reconsider their own strength.
No matter how vast the world was, Elite-level Trainers were still a minority.
"How does Noctowl feel?" Yuga asked cheerfully as he looked at the newly evolved Noctowl.
Noctowl nodded in response to Yuga, indicating that it felt excellent at the moment, filled with newfound strength.
The sensation of becoming an Elite from a pseudo-Elite was entirely different, marking another form of life evolution. If regular evolution for Pokémon was like a leap in life stages, evolving from a pseudo-Elite to an Elite was no different.
After the breakthrough, Noctowl felt like it had transformed into a different kind of life form—a more powerful, energetic one. This explained why stronger Pokémon tended to have longer lifespans.
"Noctowl, I need your help with something," Yuga told Noctowl and proceeded to explain his plan to locate and confront the pseudo-Elite Trainer Motohara.
Feeling great after its evolution, Noctowl readily agreed to assist Yuga. After all, it considered itself a part of the YoYo Day Care, having enjoyed its hospitality for so long without contributing.
However, Yuga didn't immediately set off to find Motohara in the Violet Glow Forest. Instead, he decided to help Noctowl adapt to its newfound power, just in case.
Over the next three days, Yuga took Noctowl outside the manor daily to help it become accustomed to its enhanced abilities. The manor couldn't withstand the antics of an Elite-level Pokémon.
The best way for Noctowl to familiarize itself with its newfound strength was through battles. However, there were no Pokémon near the manor that could match Noctowl's level. Therefore, Yuga temporarily ask the Great Flygon to be a sparring partner.
the Great Flygon wasn't too thrilled about this situation, considering it had previously been used as a target by Charmander. Now, it was facing Noctowl's training. It was a bit disgruntled but had no choice.
Fortunately, the sparring between Noctowl and the Great Flygon was relatively gentle, so the Great Flygon didn't struggle too much.
After three days, Noctowl had mostly grasped its newly acquired power, and Yuga was ready to set off.
Before leaving, Yuga informed Ryuichi. As usual, Ryuichi offered his assistance, but Yuga declined.
However, he didn't encounter Mr. Kuni'o again. Aside from their initial meeting on the first day at the manor, Yuga hadn't seen Mr. Kuni'o at all during his stay.
Yuga mounted the Great Flygon and left the manor, heading towards the Violet Glow Forest near Route 118.
The Violet Glow Forest wasn't far from the Mauville City; it could be considered right next to it. It was the largest forest near Mauville City, but also one of the most dangerous places nearby.
Only Trainers as strong as Motohara could remain hidden in the forest for an extended period, using it as a sanctuary to conceal their whereabouts. Most people would have perished in there.
To the west of the Violet Glow Forest lay a vast bay, and thanks to the warm sea breeze, the forest remained lush and green year-round. It was an ideal habitat for Pokémon and a perfect place to hide.
After flying over a large portion of Mauville, Yuga entered Route 118, and it didn't take long for him to spot the expansive Violet Glow Forest.
Upon reaching the forest's edge, Yuga dismounted the Great Flygon. Instead of venturing deeper, he decided to proceed cautiously.
Boldly flying above the forest was an extremely unwise move.
Yuga recalled the Great Flygon and released Absol. Then, he proceeded to enter the Violet Glow Forest.
The Violet Glow Forest was vast, and Yuga had no specific information about Motohara's location. He had prepared for the possibility of a prolonged battle and stocked up on supplies stored in his system backpack.
Yuga hadn't even considered the option that Motohara might not be within the Violet Glow Forest. If that were the case, it would simply be his bad luck.
As he entered the forest, Yuga noticed it was bustling with activity. Groups of Taillow leaped through the trees, Shroomishs gathered in pairs to bask in the sun, and Zigzagoon stumbled clumsily while transporting food to their dens. The entire Violet Glow Forest seemed vibrant and full of life.
Yuga didn't disturb these Pokémon enjoying their leisure time. Instead, he quietly proceeded deeper into the forest with Absol.
He didn't believe that Motohara would stay near the forest's edge. This place was too dangerous for someone like him.
Perhaps due to Yuga's haste, they accidentally alarmed a Loudred. The Loudred immediately charged towards Yuga and Absol, its face filled with anger.
Loudred had excellent hearing, but its most common ability was Soundproof, which made it difficult to wake them up during sleep. However, there was one exception—Loudred with a hidden ability.
The ones with hidden abilities had extremely sensitive hearing and often had trouble sleeping. Once they were awakened, they became furious.
Unfortunately, Yuga and Absol had encountered a Loudred with a hidden ability.
The charging Loudred opened its enormous mouth and used the Bite move, lunging at Absol, which stood in front of Yuga.
Absol easily dealt with this lesser-evolved Pokémon. It raised its paw and lightly swatted the approaching Loudred, sending it flying backward.
While the Loudred wasn't incapacitated, it needed some time to recover. Ignoring the furious Loudred, Yuga and Absol continued their journey deeper into the forest.
Along the way, Yuga saw numerous powerful Pokémon, but he avoided engaging with them. At the moment, he didn't want to provoke any other Pokémon, lest he stir up trouble unnecessarily.
During their exploration of the Illuma Island's forests, the formidable Pokémon had been cleared by Mr. Moore. That's why Yuga's mission there had progressed so smoothly. However, things were different here.
Once they ventured deeper into the Violet Glow Forest, Yuga knew they might encounter formidable Pokémon at any moment, so they had to be extremely cautious.
Unbeknownst to Yuga and Absol, as they entered the middle layer of the Violet Glow Forest, a Natu appeared not far away, covertly observing them.
This Natu had a green body, making it difficult to spot among the foliage. Moreover, being a Psychic-type Pokémon, it could easily conceal its presence.
After observing Yuga and Absol for a while, the Natu quietly flew deeper into the forest and soon disappeared from sight.
