Siege

Yuga's Ghost World Origin Stone bore the seal of the Mythical Pokémon Marshadow. Even though this Cofagrigus was enigmatic and exceptionally powerful, it couldn't penetrate Yuga's secret.

Just as Cofagrigus was pressuring Yuga with questions, the Volcarona, previously thrown aside by Cofagrigus, launched another assault.

As for the Unown responsible for sealing Cofagrigus, they had disappeared long after Cofagrigus broke free.

Fiery flames swirled around the orange-red wings of the Volcarona as Flamethrower shot toward Cofagrigus.

Yuga, through his Insight ability, could discern that this Volcarona was a formidable Elite level Pokémon. Despite being unable to defeat Cofagrigus, this guardian of the seal had enough power to hold its ground.

Controlled by Volcarona, the fire pillars spun and surged towards Cofagrigus. Even though Cofagrigus was immensely powerful, it winced in pain from the searing heat.

Despite the intense attack, Cofagrigus did not release Yuga. It remained intrigued by Yuga's ability to resist its life-absorbing powers.

Just as Cofagrigus prepared to retaliate against Volcarona, Yuga suddenly activated the power of the King of Ghost. In an instant, Cofagrigus felt its own power being suppressed.

Nevertheless, Cofagrigus was a Ghost-type Pokémon, and Yuga's King of Ghost ability had limited effect due to Cofagrigus's overwhelming strength.

In the moment of its power being suppressed, Cofagrigus's attack paused. Seizing the opportunity, Volcarona unleashed another Flamethrower, controlling several fire pillars to burn Cofagrigus.

Sensing the anomaly on its body, Cofagrigus immediately suspected the human before it. It had known Volcarona for a long time and was aware that Volcarona did not possess such abilities.

Ignoring Volcarona's Flamethrower, Cofagrigus turned its head towards Yuga, speaking harshly, "What have you done to me?"

Yuga remained silent, which only served to irritate Cofagrigus further.

Suddenly, a Shadow Ball appeared and struck Cofagrigus's arm, causing it to release Yuga. Falling rapidly, Yuga was caught by a Psychic power, turning to see a Chandelure beside him.

Yuga hadn't expected this Chandelure to be his savior. He had initially thought it was an ally of Cofagrigus.

Since he had learned about the sealed Cofagrigus, Yuga had realized that the Ghost-type Pokémon attacking the Darmanitan outside were likely here to rescue it. Darmantian appeared to be Volcarona's subordinate, protecting against other Ghost-type Pokémon attempting to free Cofagrigus.

After being rescued, Yuga quickly released a Poké Ball, summoning a Noctowl.

"Noctowl, assist Volcarona in battling Cofagrigus."

Hearing Yuga's command, Noctowl nodded and launched a series of Air Slashes that formed into razor-sharp blades, heading straight for Cofagrigus.

When Yuga had gone to the Pokémon Center earlier, it was to retrieve Noctowl. Originally intended to use it to battled with the Fire-type Volcarona, but it had unexpectedly become an ally against the even stronger Cofagrigus.

While Cofagrigus had held Yuga captive, he hadn't dared to release Noctowl, fearing that doing so would be like offering himself up to Cofagrigus.

The strength of Noctowl isn't on par with Volcarona, and if it were to be attacked by Cofagrigus at close range, Noctowl would undoubtedly meet its end prematurely.

Under the constant suppression from Yuga's the Ghost World Origin Stone, the two Elite level Pokémon were finally able to engage with Cofagrigus on more equal footing.

As Pokémon belonging to the Ghost-type, Cofagrigus's proficiency in Ghost-type skill had limited effects on Noctowl, who has Normal-type. However, Noctowl who is also a flying-type Pokémon has no such effect when facing the purely ghost-type Cofagrigus trouble.

"Chandelure, can you assist us?"

Controlled by the Chandelure's Psychic, Yuga was placed gently on the ground. Yuga turned to the Chandelure and inquired,

Yuga believed that since the Chandelure had willingly rescued him, it must not be affiliated with Cofagrigus.

Indeed, upon hearing Yuga's request, the Chandelure readily nodded in agreement.

As Yuga watched the Chandelure fly toward the direction of Noctowl and Volcarona, his Pokémon in his Shadow, Gengar and Mismagius, also emerged. The five Pokémon surrounded Cofagrigus.

Gengar, Mismagius, Chandelure's Shadow Balls, Noctowl's Sky Attack, and Volcarona's Flame Burst all launched attacks toward the central Cofagrigus.

Previously, Volcarona had been restraining its attacks, using only smaller-scale Flamethrower, due to Yuga being held captive by Cofagrigus. With Yuga now free, Volcarona unleashed its full power.

Cofagrigus blinked and found itself overwhelmed by the skills of the five Pokémon. It let out a pitiful roar.

"How dare you! If I hadn't been sealed for so long, there's no way you could stand up to me!"

Cofagrigus's grating voice seemed to possess extreme penetrative force, making Yuga's eardrums feel as though they might burst.

The explosion of the combined attacks produced a smokescreen that concealed Cofagrigus's form. However, Dark Pulse burst forth like fireworks, hitting each of the five surrounding Pokémon.

Fortunately, Cofagrigus excelled in defense, lagging slightly behind in offensive abilities. Otherwise, the Dark Pulse attack would have seriously injured the five Pokémon attempting to encircle it.

The frenzied Cofagrigus intensified its attacks, once again suppressing the five Pokémon. Before long, they were pushed back.

"Master, this Cofagrigus is too powerful. We won't be able to hold out for long," echoed Mismagius's voice in Yuga's mind.

Seeing Yuga's furrowed brow, Mismagius continued, "I have a plan, but we need to subdue Cofagrigus first."

Yuga inquired, "What's the plan?"

Upon hearing Mismagius's proposal, Yuga felt a surge of relief. His Mismagius and Gengar both hailed from the Ghost World and were Ghost-type Pokémon, which meant they likely have more methods to deal with Ghost-type Pokémon.

Mismagius then shared its plan with Yuga.

Yuga hadn't anticipated that Mismagius's plan would involve using the same method that had once harmed Muya – seizing Cofagrigus's Ghost-type essence using the technique passed down in Cecilia's family.

This technique had its origins in the Ghost World and was adapted by Cecilia's family from incomplete records. Even if successfully executed, it would have significant side effects on the user.

However, with the assistance of Yuga's Ghost World Origin Stone and Mismagius's complete knowledge of the technique, the chances of this plan succeeding were very high, and even in the event of failure, there would be no adverse effects.
