Upon seeing these imprisoned Pokémon, the two Meowstic's expressions changed. They recognized that these Pokémon were originally inhabitants of the forest.
However, they never expected that Malamar would imprison so many of these Pokémon and subject them to torture.
In the center of the underground laboratory was a cylindrical device connected to the iron cages imprisoning the Pokémon. The energy extracted from the Pokémon was all being transported to this device.
On top of the cylindrical device was an energy beam that extended to the top of the underground laboratory, where all the extracted energy was being sent.
Yuga guessed that the energy on the flower in the upper laboratory was likely coming from here.
"Gengar, destroy all of this," Yuga said firmly.
Gengar nodded, placing the two Meowstic on the ground and releasing several Shadow Balls. The iron cages imprisoning the Pokémon shattered into pieces.
Gengar's energy control was precise, destroying the cages without harming the Pokémon inside.
The rescued Pokémon were all very weak, and before they could fully rejoice, they began to faint one by one.
Seeing this, Yuga immediately released Florges and had her use Grassy Terrain to heal the Pokémon.
While Florges tended to the Pokémon, Yuga discovered two notebooks in the room, one of which was new, and the other was yellowed with age.
Yuga opened the yellowed, old notebook first and was surprised to find that it was written in Ancient Pokémon script.
Yuga had spent two years in Arus, so he could still read Ancient Pokémon script without difficulty.
However, the further he read, the more astonished he became.
The author of this notebook was signed as AZ, and the recorded time could be traced back over three thousand years.
To mention AZ was to delve into the history of Kalos three thousand years ago, a history Yuga knew little about but was renowned throughout Kalos.
AZ was a special king of Kalos three thousand years ago, leaving a significant mark on Kalos' history.
He was the creator of the Ultimate Weapon and played a crucial role in the birth of a unique Pokémon, the Eternal Flower Floette.
The Ultimate Weapon possessed a terrifying power capable of destroying everything, but where its ended up, no one knows up to this day.
In the historical records of Kalos, due to the war, the whereabouts of the Ultimate Weapon became a mystery, and AZ and Floette's lives and deaths remained unknown.
However, Yuga knew that under the influence of the Ultimate Weapon, AZ and Floette had gained eternal life; they hadn't died. The notes he held confirmed this.
AZ's story wasn't the focus; what was crucial was that this notebook contained the manufacturing method of the Ultimate Weapon.
It was hard to imagine that AZ had recorded the creation of something so terrifying, but it was unclear how this notebook had fallen into the hands of the three Malamar.
Thinking about this, Yuga couldn't help but speculate that the contents of the upper laboratory were likely a replica of the Ultimate Weapon created by the three Malamar.
And that pure white flower, it resembled the Eternal Flower mentioned in AZ's notes.
After a brief look through AZ's notes, Yuga picked up the other new notebook and discovered that it was the experiment records of the three Malamar.
Just as Yuga had suspected, the three Malamar had indeed attempted to replicate the Ultimate Weapon.
Not only did they decipher AZ's notes written in Ancient Pokémon script, but they could also use modern Pokémon language.
Yuga had always known that Psychic-type Pokémon were intelligent, but he hadn't realized until today that the intelligence of some Psychic-types could rival that of humans.
In their experiment records, the three Malamar aimed to replicate the Ultimate Weapon and throught Ultimate Weapon, they could obtain eternal life, just like AZ, and then dominate the entire Pokémon world.
Seeing this, Yuga couldn't help but think that the three Malamar might have some serious mental issues. He believe there's must be something wrong with their brain.
However, the three Malamar lacked the abilities and resources. The Ultimate Weapon they ultimately created was a far cry from the real thing.
Everything in these laboratories had been collected by the three Malamar over several decades from the human world. Some items were stolen, some were seized, and some were obtained through deception.
They possessed a powerful Hypnosis ability, making it easy for them to collect these items covertly.
The three Malamar were brothers, closely related. They had lived in the human world for a while, and after experiencing the prosperity of the human world, they became immensely envious of the colorful human life.
Hence, after obtaining AZ's notes, their wild ambitions grew. They wanted to conquer the world and enslave humans.
However, the manufacturing of the Ultimate Weapon proved much more challenging than they had imagined.
Furthermore, the activation of the Ultimate Weapon required the sacrifice of a significant number of Pokémon lives, a feat they were incapable of achieving.
It wasn't because they were inherently kind-hearted; it was because if they did this, it would not only attract human attention but also draw the attention of other powerful Pokémon.
After all, they were only pseudo-Elite Pokémon, unable to act recklessly. They could only resort to secretive and sinister methods.
Without life energy, they resorted to capturing other Pokémon from the forest and extracting their energy as a substitute for life energy.
The energy within Pokémon can regenerate, and although the Pokémon from which energy is extracted may suffer, they won't die as long as it's not taken to an extreme. This allowed for a continuous and inconspicuous cycle of energy usage.
While the energy within Pokémon wasn't as powerful as life energy, it had the advantage of being accumulative without drawing attention.
These three Malamar were patient, collecting energy gradually over several decades, yet they still couldn't create a replica of the Ultimate Weapon.
Because the energy attributes within different Pokémon were diverse, the collected energy became increasingly mixed, resulting in the replica of the Ultimate Weapon appearing more and more distorted.
They realized their research had hit a dead end and decided to capture a human inventor to help them. After careful consideration, they chose Clemont.
It could only be said that Clemont, the genius inventor, had an exceedingly high reputation, even reaching the ears of the Malamar.
As for that white flower, it was indeed an imitation of the Eternal Flower.
The Fairy Flower on AZ's Floette underwent a transformation influenced by the Ultimate Weapon, and with Floette's mutation, it mutated into Eternal Flower Floette.
This type of mutation wasn't unique; it was sporadic, and the Malamar's attempts to create a second Eternal Flower Floette were evidently unsuccessful.
They captured a Floette for experimentation, but it ultimately perished under the strain of the pseudo-Ultimate Weapon's energy.
However, the experiment yielded some results for the Malamar.
Although the Floette was lost, its Fairy Flower underwent a mutation, acquiring some characteristics of the Eternal Flower, which remained intact.
Without a Floette to utilize it, the Malamar couldn't make use of this semi-finished Eternal Flower.
In the end, this semi-finished Eternal Flower became a converter for energy.
They discovered that energy filtered through the semi-finished Eternal Flower became pure, including the attribute energy extracted from Pokémon.
This explained the scenes Yuga witnessed in the upper laboratory.
