Even as a Demon, I want to be the Emperor of all Demons
The vast, desolate wilderness outside Demon Mountain City teemed with danger at every turn. However, within the city, powerful cultivators coexisted harmoniously with mighty demonic beasts.
Upon reaching the Heavenly Dipper realm, demonic beasts could assume human form. Some demons chose to wander the world in human guise, while others preferred to dwell within their demonic realm.
Qin Wentian had employed the Demon Divinity Sacrificial Transformation, relinquishing his humanity to become a primordial demon in body and essence. Even though he had attained the Heavenly Dipper realm, there was no way for him to revert to his human form. He currently resided within the demon realm, deep within the forested regions.
Perched upon a colossal rock, the great roc stood with an intense gaze fixed upon a group of formidable demonic beasts.
"Get lost!" The great roc locked eyes with a Grand Earth Demon Bear. It exuded an air of supreme authority, like a demon monarch looking down upon its subjects.
This Grand Earth Demon Bear, a bear king, ruled its dominion, reigning supreme over a thousand-mile territory. Upon encountering the great roc intruding upon its domain, a savage and icy intent flashed in its eyes, accompanied by an aura of bloodlust.
However, the great roc's immense size was utterly overwhelming, resembling a sky sovereign roc of ancient legends, a demon emperor that could traverse the nine heavens. The oppressive aura emanating from Qin Wentian made the bear king feel stifled, preventing it from acting recklessly.
As the bear king stared, the great roc's eyes brimmed with disdain as it loomed above its opponent. The demonic bear roared in fury, causing the earth to tremble. The group of demon beasts that had pledged allegiance to the bear king rushed forward.
A deafening buzz filled the air as a tremendous gust of wind surged forth. The great roc's wings flapped violently, sending the surrounding demonic beasts hurtling through the air. The bear king's pupils constricted as it sensed the imminent threat posed by the great roc. With explosive speed, it retreated, only to witness the great roc's silhouette flickering before vanishing from its line of sight.
With a technique known as Roc Flash, Qin Wentian, now in his roc form, exhibited an astonishing level of power. In a mere instant, his razor-sharp talons punctured the demonic bear's flesh, driving deep into its body. With a mighty heave, the great roc lifted the massive bear off the ground.
The demonic bear emitted a piercing scream as it was forcefully propelled skyward by the great roc.
A deafening explosion rang out as the colossal body of the bear crashed into a distant mountain, causing the entire peak to crumble under the force of impact.
Triumphant screeches filled the air as the great roc soared forward with remarkable agility. As it descended to a lower altitude, the forests below trembled in awe. The lurking demonic beasts prostrated themselves on the ground, bowing their heads in deference to the formidable silhouette in the sky, as if recognizing their sovereign.
In mid-air, Qin Wentian cast an imperious gaze upon everything below. None of the demonic beasts dared to meet his gaze directly.
A furious wind howled as the great roc landed atop an ancient mountain peak. Its eyes seemed capable of piercing through all obstacles as it surveyed the demonic beasts below. In a cold, authoritative tone, it declared, "In this ten-thousand-mile region, I am the Emperor. All demonic beasts must either vacate my territory or come forward to pay homage. Now go, convey my commands to those you encounter."
The commanding voice echoed far and wide, its sound waves carrying throughout the area. The prostrating demonic beasts showed even deeper reverence in response.
The law of the jungle was deeply ingrained in the beliefs of these demonic beasts. The strongest would naturally become the leader.
And now, this primordial roc sought to establish himself as Emperor over a vast ten-thousand-mile territory, expecting the demonic beasts residing within to acknowledge his rule.
"Go!" The great roc, seeing the demonic beasts still kneeling and hesitant to move, bellowed its command once more. Instantly, the demonic beasts scattered in all directions, their hurried movements causing the entire forest to quake as they hastened to obey the great roc's decree.
The great roc watched as the demonic beasts departed, maintaining its unyielding demeanor as it aspired to be the ruler of all demons in this territory.
In this life, if it were impossible to revert to a human form, Qin Wentian vowed that once he became strong enough, he would lead a legion of demonic beasts and crush the Pill Emperor Hall beneath his feet.
Over the vast expanse of this ten-thousand-mile region, thousands of demonic beasts came to revere the great roc. Under the imposing presence emanating from the ancient peak, they all felt a majestic power, prompting them to prostrate themselves in worship before the sovereign of demons.
The entire area was engulfed in a tumultuous spectacle as even the former king of this region, the demonic bear, now bowed to pay his respects. Beasts that soared through the skies and creatures that traversed the land alike converged upon this place, turning it into a gathering point for demons.
This scene evoked a memory in Qin Wentian's mind of a time in the Dark Forest, back when he was still in Chu. There, a statue of an ancient demon had attracted pilgrimages of demonic beasts, and it was amid such circumstances that Mo Qingcheng had ventured into the forest to find him and share news of Chu. The vivid recollection of that event lingered in his thoughts.
But today's grandeur far surpassed that memory. The wilderness of the Demon Continent housed an even greater multitude of demonic beasts.
Despite their vast numbers, the region was now hushed. The majority of the demonic beasts had unreservedly submitted to Qin Wentian, refraining from making any rash movements because the great roc atop the ancient peak had yet to issue any commands.
Qin Wentian observed the assembly, singling out the most powerful among them. These formidable demonic beasts hovered in the air, heads lowered in deference.
Below them, another group of demonic beasts stood on the ground, while an even lower tier prostrated themselves submissively. These tiers represented clear distinctions in power, with the mightiest standing highest in the air.
The strongest among them glared at the great roc with piercing gazes, but its commanding presence swiftly made them lower their heads, unwilling to challenge its authority.
One by one, they all submitted. The region remained wrapped in silence, awaiting the words of the great roc.
"I desire to lead the demonic beasts in this entire territory. If you refuse to submit, leave my presence. But if you are willing to serve under me, acknowledge me as your Emperor," the great roc declared. Immediately, all the demonic beasts prostrated themselves, signaling their readiness to follow its rule.
For these demonic beasts, their only hope was that a mighty demon Emperor would emerge to lead them. Those who were unwilling to submit had already departed the region.
"Who were the previous rulers of this ten-thousand-mile domain?" The great roc asked, its voice devoid of emotion. In response, nine exceedingly powerful demonic beasts stepped forward. The weakest among them possessed a fifth-level Yuanfu cultivation base.
As kings of their respective domains, these nine demonic leaders naturally possessed power far beyond that of other beasts.
"Very well. The nine of you shall serve as my deputies, assisting me in governing the others. When I say 'govern,' I mean that I expect you to establish order. Can you fulfill this task?" The great roc's command carried undeniable authority. The nine demonic leaders all bowed, and one among them spoke in the human tongue, "Emperor, we will follow your orders. The chaos among us arose because there was no leader strong enough to unite us. Now that you are here, we will naturally follow your lead."
"As for the other regions around the Demon Continent, each of them has its own Emperor. They often lead their beasts in invasions of our territory. What should we do if we face such an invasion?"
"Eight of you will be responsible for governance, while the final group will familiarize itself with the other regions and oversee strategy and information gathering. You will keep me informed of all developments in the demon city," the great roc commanded from its mountain peak. Its eyes emitted an intensely brutal light, projecting an aura befitting an Emperor, reminiscent of a true sky-sovereign roc. This compelled the other demonic beasts to involuntarily submit.
Indeed, it was the majestic presence exuded by the great roc that made these demonic beasts willingly bow before it. Considering the inherently chaotic nature of demonic beasts, organizing them into an orderly system was nearly impossible. However, from this moment on, this ten-thousand-mile region was reorganized, becoming the first stronghold of Qin Wentian's military power.
Qin Wentian established a structure similar to that of human sects and educated the demon leaders under him accordingly. To enhance the strength of the demonic beasts, the first step was centralizing their power.
Seven days later, the great roc demon emperor initiated the first wave of transformation and activity.
In the vast expanse beyond the ten-thousand-mile region, another demon emperor held sway. This formidable creature was the Scarlet-Winged Earth Dragon, descended from one of the eight ancient demonic divinities. It ruled both the skies and the earth with unrivaled power, its strength making it the uncontested sovereign of its domain. However, its temperament was cruel, and it possessed insatiable greed and lust. The only reason it hadn't led its demonic beasts to conquer the ten-thousand-mile region was to avoid unnecessary conflict and due to the presence of the great roc.
Yet now, the great roc was calling for war?
The two demon territories erupted in bloody conflict as fearsome beasts on both sides engaged in relentless slaughter.
A colossal serpent proved to be exceptionally powerful, its venomous fangs bringing certain death to anything they touched.
However, at that very moment, amidst the battlefield, a raging tempest materialized, and a chilling demonic aura saturated the area. A group of demonic beasts displayed expressions of anticipation as their newly crowned emperor arrived.
As for the opposing demonic beasts, they narrowed their pupils as they gazed at the sudden appearance of the great roc in the skies. The great roc coldly surveyed the participants of the brutal battle beneath it.
"Zoom!" A gust of wind swept through, and blood sprayed into the air. The mighty serpent was cleaved in half, a sight that momentarily halted the battle in its vicinity.
"Those who invade my territory shall be shown no mercy," declared the great roc as it soared upward. Its relentless killing intent radiated powerfully, casting an immense pressure upon the enemies below. This overwhelming force stirred primal fear in their hearts, even among the stronger ones. One of them prostrated himself on the ground, declaring, "I am willing to submit."
"Zoom!"
Once more, a tempestuous windstorm arose as a terrifying figure streaked across the skies. The Earth Dragon that had prostrated itself was rent asunder as the great roc reappeared. "No mercy shall be granted to those who slay my subjects. DIE!"
With those words, the opposing demonic beasts were swiftly dispatched, leaving only a single survivor who received a grim message: "Tell your emperor to come; I will be waiting."
With that, the great roc's silhouette flickered and vanished, its ruthless actions elevating its reputation to new heights.
In just a few days, the great roc stood atop the ancient peak, accompanied by a graceful figure by its side—Fairy Qingmei. She cast a tremulous glance at the great roc, unable to fathom that Qin Wentian had managed to subdue all the demonic beasts in the external regions.
Perhaps it was his unwavering resolve, or perhaps it was due to the lack of better options, but even in his demon form, Qin Wentian aspired to be the foremost, an overlord among demons. Seeking revenge, he decided to begin by amassing an army, demonstrating his indomitable character.
"Qinger has yet to return, and I have no idea of her whereabouts," sighed Fairy Qingmei, her face etched with concern for Qinger.
However, at that very moment, a fierce gust of wind swept through as the great roc ascended into the sky.
"Senior," the great roc addressed her, and Fairy Qingmei nodded in response. "Is there something you need my assistance with?"
"Could you help me gather information about the activities of the Zong Clan in Sword Reverence City and the White Deer Institute in Moon Continent? I may need to contact them soon," Qin Wentian requested.
"Very well, consider it done," agreed Fairy Qingmei. "I will do my utmost to assist you in all your endeavors."
With those words, she turned and departed, while Qin Wentian returned to his previous spot, anticipating the arrival of the demon emperor from another region!
