Little Rascal's Innate Ability...
"That's enough, Little Rascal. If you keep gobbling up everything, there won't be a formation world left," Luo Huan scolded, and Little Rascal obediently ceased its ravenous feast. With a pompous strut, it approached Qin Wentian, enthusiastically communicating through a series of joyful yips and yaps in Qin Wentian's mind.
As Little Rascal proudly spread its wings and rubbed its head against Qin Wentian, a burning fire flickered in its eyes. Qin Wentian couldn't help but ask, "Little Rascal, did you merge with Purgatory?"
"Yiyi!" Little Rascal's fiery gaze mellowed, and it nodded vigorously. Despite this revelation, Qin Wentian still couldn't fathom what type of creature Little Rascal truly was.
"With your current level of cultivation, you should be quite powerful, right? So why can't you speak or take on a human form yet?" Qin Wentian inquired, perplexed. Although he hadn't initially noticed Little Rascal's cultivation level, when it devoured the constellation, Qin Wentian distinctly sensed the aura of a Heavenly Dipper Sovereign emanating from it. Somehow, Little Rascal had become astonishingly strong.
In response, Little Rascal shrugged its figurative shoulders, as though frustrated by something. It made a series of yiyi yaya sounds, seemingly attempting to explain itself, but the words remained incomprehensible.
Observing Little Rascal's adorable visage, Qin Wentian had a sudden realization. Could it be that, even at the Heavenly Dipper level, Little Rascal was still considered a juvenile? If that were the case, what cultivation realm would be considered adulthood for it?
"Grow up quickly," Qin Wentian muttered. He sliced his palm open, allowing a trickle of blood to emerge. "Back then, did you follow me because you were drawn to my bloodline's energy?" Qin Wentian had fed his blood to Little Rascal on multiple occasions. Knowing that he carried the blood of a supreme demon, he couldn't help but wonder if that was the reason Little Rascal had chosen to follow him.
Little Rascal vigorously nodded, affirming Qin Wentian's accurate assumption. After all, why would this playful puppy choose to follow a male around if not for something like that? Fatty Fan Le served as a prime example; he received nothing but cold rejections whenever he attempted to embrace Little Rascal.
Qin Wentian's vibrant drop of blood exuded an immensely formidable aura. With his bloodline partially awakened, the latent power within it had been unlocked to some extent. Seeing Little Rascal wagging its tail and opening its mouth, Qin Wentian let the drop of blood drip into its eagerly awaiting maw. Initially hesitant to consume Qin Wentian's blood, Little Rascal had now accepted it as a means to expedite its maturation.
After Little Rascal had its fill, it promptly scurried back into Luo Huan's embrace and drifted off to sleep. Qin Wentian could only shake his head at the puppy's laziness. Little Rascal sure knew how to enjoy the comforts of life.
"Senior Sister, when did Little Rascal become capable of devouring constellations?" Qin Wentian inquired, genuinely curious.
"It could do so even before you left. You have no idea how many times it nearly devoured the entire formation in the past two years. Fortunately, we managed to make it spit everything back out," Luo Huan replied, still flabbergasted by Little Rascal's abilities.
"Remarkable," Qin Wentian exclaimed.
"Yes, it could even devour the constellation created by the Vermilion Bird Formation to strengthen itself. That's how it broke through to the Heavenly Dipper Realm. If not for us fearing for our lives without the formation's protection, it might have swallowed the entire formation whole," Luo Huan remarked affectionately, stroking Little Rascal's belly. Over the past two years, her bond with Little Rascal had grown immeasurably strong.
"Moreover, it seems to possess an innate ability, something it acquired from inherited memories," added Mustang, who stood nearby. Qin Wentian's curiosity was piqued, as he knew that some immensely powerful demonic beasts possessed innate techniques that they instinctively learned as they matured.
"What kind of innate ability?" he asked.
"It's nothing too impressive, but I won't spoil the surprise. You'll see when Little Rascal decides to demonstrate it," Luo Huan teased, further stoking Qin Wentian's interest.
The three of them settled down and continued their conversation. It had been a very long time since Qin Wentian had the opportunity to relax like this. After a lengthy nap, Little Rascal finally stirred, opening one lazy eyelid. It instantly leaped from Luo Huan's lap to Qin Wentian's, wide awake.
"Come on, show me your innate ability," Qin Wentian urged, ruffling Little Rascal's head.
Little Rascal blinked and, casting a quick glance at Luo Huan, leaped into the air, ascending into the sky.
Unfurling its vibrant crimson wings, Little Rascal released a soft bark, and in an instant, underwent a remarkable transformation. It morphed into a Purgatory Vermilion Bird, identical to the one Qin Wentian remembered. This breathtaking display compelled Qin Wentian to rise to his feet, gazing skyward in astonishment.
The warmth and gentleness gleaming in the eyes of the Purgatory Vermilion Bird couldn't be mistaken; it was undoubtedly the same creature that had sacrificed itself for him. After a few moments, Little Rascal let out another bark, changing once more. It transformed into a fearsome, murderous beast emanating a baleful aura. This was Qin Wentian's third Astral Soul, the Demon Sovereign.
"Metamorphosis," Qin Wentian murmured.
"Yes, Little Rascal's innate ability is Metamorphosis. However, it can't increase its combat strength or gain the innate abilities of other creatures it transforms into. For instance, even though it can assume the form of the Purgatory Vermilion Bird, it can't wield the flames of purgatory to incinerate its foes," Luo Huan explained, though she remained immensely impressed by it. She had never encountered a creature like Little Rascal before.
"Teacher, Senior Sister, there's no need for you two to stay trapped here in the formation world. I've already issued orders for someone to come pick you up. Wait for my return in the Celestial Lake Palace," Qin Wentian said to Mustang and Luo Huan. They weren't surprised by his words; they were already aware of Qin Wentian's secret. His other body, the great roc, was situated in the Celestial Lake Palace, enabling him to issue commands from there to arrange their rescue.
"Little Rascal, after Teacher and Senior Sister leave this place, stay behind and quietly absorb the remaining formation. But don't digest it; I don't want Purgatory to disappear," Qin Wentian told the puppy, who had reverted to its Vermilion Bird form and was now perched on his shoulder. He smiled at it, knowing his voice would reach the real Purgatory Vermilion Bird. "I promise you, I'll find a way to bring you back."
Several days later, a group of visitors "accidentally" stumbled into the formation world, yet nothing untoward occurred to them. Given that news of Qin Wentian's departure was already known to the external world, nobody bothered to keep monitoring the area. These visitors then assumed their true demonic forms and escorted Mustang and Luo Huan away. Evidently, their real identities were demons. Although nobody should have been monitoring the area, it was still wise to be cautious. The great roc led the way, and only when they soared above the clouds, out of Ginkou's airspace, did Qin Wentian finally relax.
As for Little Rascal, it stayed behind with Qin Wentian in the Ginkou Continent.
That night, the Vermilion Bird Formation, which had once covered the ancient kingdom, completely dissipated. The next morning, the news of its disappearance created a sensation, prompting representatives from various transcendent powers to personally investigate the site. They sought to discover why the Vermilion Bird Formation had vanished and hoped to uncover any hidden secrets within the ancient kingdom.
However, there was nothing left behind except historical ruins.
Amid the ruins of the ancient kingdom, one young man stood out. His striking looks and extraordinary bearing drew attention, but it wasn't his appearance that truly captivated onlookers. Rather, it was the mount he was riding.
In this moment, a young man stood suspended in mid-air, perched upon the back of a colossal primordial great roc.
The great roc spanned several hundred meters, with talons that resembled wicked hooks and eyes flashing with lightning. It hovered in the sky, exuding an aura of dominance, as if it ruled the heavens.
Seeing this great roc, people couldn't help but recall the epic clash between Qin Wentian and the Pill Emperor Hall in the Moon Continent. Qin Wentian had transformed into a primordial great roc, wielding the demon sword to lay waste to the Pill Emperor Hall.
Now, here in Ginkou, another great roc had appeared. While not as massive as the one Qin Wentian had transformed into, it still seized the attention of onlookers. Furthermore, it served as a mount for this enigmatic young man. Questions buzzed through the minds of observers. Just who was this young man?
A group of figures gazed at the great roc and Qin Wentian, their eyes sharp, radiating a cold intent. These individuals were none other than experts from the formidable Great Solar Chen Clan. The sight of the great roc reminded them of Qin Wentian's past deeds. He had transformed into a great roc during the Pill Emperor Hall battle, annihilating the Hall and claiming the lives of many Chen Clan members.
"GET OUT OF HERE!" A middle-aged man with blazing eyes stared at the young man astride the great roc. Qin Wentian had killed his son, who had been present at the Pill Emperor Hall during the marriage selection. Now, with a great roc before him, the man's long-held grudge flared anew.
Qin Wentian fixed his gaze on the middle-aged man. A single glance told him that this man was at the third level of Heavenly Dipper. Those around him were also Heavenly Dipper Sovereigns. The number of Heavenly Dipper Sovereigns the Great Solar Chen Clan had dispatched to Ginkou revealed the depth of their influence and their solid foundations. In the clan, experts were as plentiful as clouds.
"Are you speaking to me?" Qin Wentian's eyes bore into the middle-aged man's, and inwardly, he chuckled. Recognizing the fury in the man's eyes and the scorching aura he emanated, Qin Wentian knew that the middle-aged man had activated the Great Solar Universe Art.
"Seize the great roc from him!" The middle-aged man's voice was firm. As it faded, the auras of his companions erupted forth.
Regardless of this young man's status or background, in the eyes of the Great Solar Chen Clan, everyone, from princes to beggars, held equal significance. In instructing the young man to depart, the middle-aged man had already set his sights on seizing the great roc for himself!
