Mowing Down All Resistance

Mowing Down All Resistance

With the Celestial Constellation Tree now completely devoid of Constellation Fruits, the once-oppressive invisible pressure dissipated, no longer weighing down the cultivators.

All that remained were colossal branches, intertwined boughs, and countless leaves. The Constellation Fruits had vanished without a trace. Qin Wentian stood alone, possessing six of these coveted fruits, and even his loyal demonic pet had claimed one for itself. This meant that Qin Wentian now possessed a total of seven Constellation Fruits.

Nobody dared to harm the ancient tree. Perhaps, in the distant future, it might bear fruits again, though when that would occur remained uncertain. However, when it did happen, the major powers in Xuan King City would undoubtedly vie for the privilege of harvesting them.

The sound of bodies hitting the ground echoed in the area. These were the weaker cultivators whose hearts had ruptured due to Qin Wentian's Heartbreak Echo. Under the pressure of the Constellation Fruits, their heartbeats had already been stretched to the brink, like a bowstring ready to snap at the slightest disturbance.

Even Shang Qi, with his formidable bloodline, couldn't withstand the pressure. As he landed, he staggered backward several steps, quickly consuming a medical pill to stabilize his pounding heart. His eyes burned with intense anger.

Qin Wentian, on the other hand, wasted no time. With over six Constellation Fruits in his possession, he had no reason to linger. Most cultivators would be content with obtaining just two or three, but he had far exceeded that. He dashed away like a great roc taking flight, leaving the Celestial Constellation Tree behind.

"STOP HIM!"

"KILL HIM!"

Shang Qi and Jian Jingtian shouted in unison. Other uninjured experts followed suit, ascending into the air and pursuing Qin Wentian.

Surprisingly, the closest pursuer was Xie Yu. He had strategically kept his distance from the Constellation Fruits earlier, experiencing the least pressure. Now, he unleashed the arrows he had prepared as he saw Qin Wentian attempting to escape.

Qin Wentian sensed the deadly arrows closing in. Employing the Roc Flash technique, his figure flickered, evading the projectiles harmlessly above his head.

Little Rascal remained by his side as they made a mad dash towards the nearby mountain range. There was no reason for them to linger in this perilous situation.

"Where do you think you're going?" A piercing voice resounded. A powerful gust of wind heralded the arrival of Feng Yunhe, the chosen of the Wind Roc Aristocrat Clan, who now appeared above Qin Wentian. With roc wings unfurled, he was the fastest among all the pursuing experts.

Feng Yunhe descended swiftly, extending his golden talons, which sliced through the air with a menacing sound, aiming to strike Qin Wentian.

"What a formidable attack," Qin Wentian marveled as he felt the divine energy surging within him. He unleashed his bloodcurse imprint in response to Feng Yunhe's assault.

"BOOM!" The deafening collision resonated through the air. Feng Yunhe was equally astonished by the strength of Qin Wentian's counterattack. He vanished in a blur, reappearing a distance ahead of Qin Wentian.

Qin Wentian fixed his gaze on Feng Yunhe, who stood in his path. Feng Yunhe's eyes held a hint of an otherworldly quality, and the wings on his back appeared to be an innate aspect of his bloodline, not the result of any particular technique.

Hailing from the Wind Roc Aristocrat Clan, Feng Yunhe possessed the blood of the Wind Roc, known for its unparalleled speed in Xuan King City. None of the major powers, including the Royal Clan's experts, could rival their swiftness.

As a chosen of the Wind Roc Aristocrat Clan, Feng Yunhe was far from an ordinary fifth-level Heavenly Dipper Sovereign. While Qin Wentian could contend with such sovereigns, who said Feng Yunhe couldn't do the same?

Moreover, Feng Yunhe combined speed with strength. He wouldn't have become a chosen of the Wind Roc Aristocrat Clan otherwise.

"Cough up the fruits," Feng Yunhe demanded imperiously. Pursuers were closing in, leaving Qin Wentian with no desire to engage so many in battle. He leaped onto Little Rascal's back and veered to the side.

"Hmph," Feng Yunhe snorted coldly. He moved like a gust of wind, swift and effortless. Golden lances materialized around him, forming a barrier that obstructed Qin Wentian's path. Simultaneously, the remaining lances shot toward Qin Wentian.

Little Rascal descended and dodged the incoming lances, but Feng Yunhe promptly reappeared in front of Qin Wentian, blocking his way. If Qin Wentian didn't surrender the fruits, his chances of survival were slim.

The sound of figures soaring through the air reached their ears as more experts from the Wind Roc Aristocrat Clan arrived, each brandishing golden lances and staring coldly at Qin Wentian below.

Behind them, representatives from other major powers, including Shang Qi and Jian Jingtian, also arrived, their killing intent blanketing the area.

Ji Xue initially moved to help, but Xu Feng restrained her. He turned her gaze to the oncoming experts and shook his head. "I owe him my life as well, but if we fight alongside him now, we'll only meet a pointless end."

Though Xu Feng's words sounded harsh, they were grounded in reality. Emotionally, they should assist Qin Wentian, but rationally, doing so would likely lead to their own deaths.

Ji Xue sighed in resignation. While she possessed strength, she couldn't contend with so many experts.

"That crimson-eyed demonic beast has vanished, possibly slain by him. If he dared to snatch so many Constellation Fruits, he must have a means of survival," Xu Feng said in a hushed tone. His words sparked a glimmer of hope in Ji Xue's eyes. Perhaps Qin Wentian did have a way to escape this dire situation.

Shang Yue dashed forward, trailing the crowd of pursuing experts. They moved like a pack of hungry wolves, closing in on their prey. The question loomed: could the white-robed young man survive this dire situation?

Qin Wentian, however, stood his ground, his gaze unwavering as he observed the approaching figures. He also noticed the slower experts trailing behind, ready to unleash their collective strength. If they coordinated their attack, he would surely be crushed into oblivion.

Feng Yunhe, standing at the forefront, issued an ultimatum. "Surrender the Constellation Fruits, and I may spare your life. There might still be a chance for you to survive."

Qin Wentian surveyed the encroaching group. His blood surged with power, and his eyes took on an eerie, otherworldly glow. Stepping forward, he unleashed an overwhelming surge of sword qi that seemed to consume the very heavens and earth.

"BOOM, BOOM, BOOM!"

With each step, the sword qi intensified, filling the air with its boundless presence. As Qin Wentian took his fourth step, the sword qi became so overwhelming that it felt bottomless.

"Foolish!" Feng Yunhe roared in anger. Golden lances pierced the air as he attacked, and his fellow Wind Roc Aristocrat Clan members followed suit. Countless golden lances hurtled toward Qin Wentian.

Yet, it seemed as though Qin Wentian remained oblivious to the onslaught. His fifth step sent a shockwave through the surroundings, causing everyone's bodies to tremble as if the ceaseless sword qi had penetrated their very beings. Above Qin Wentian, a resplendent Astral Nova took the form of a majestic sword. It vibrated intensely, turning the space around it into a forest of blades.

The golden lances surged toward him, but before they could reach him, his figure vanished in a blaze of astral light. In an instant, he passed safely through the gap between the lances and took his sixth step.

A melodious sword symphony filled the air, and the expressions of everyone present underwent a drastic change. They retreated hastily while launching counterattacks, but the Astral Novas within their bodies quivered and began to bleed. Somehow, an overwhelming sword energy had infiltrated their bodies, wreaking havoc from within.

Even Feng Yunhe couldn't escape its effects, but his murderous intent remained unyielding.

Qin Wentian's body tensed. The seventh step was an immense challenge.

The Seven Annihilations Swordplay relied on the principle of combining each step with a sword technique. Each successive step built upon the sword energy of the previous one. Now, at his sixth step, he had established a profound connection with the heavens and earth, using their force to amplify his attacks. However, the seventh step was an elusive goal, not easily attained.

Shang Qi and the others finally caught up, and as they sensed the overwhelming sword energy in the air, their bodies erupted with formidable auras.

Was this Qin Wentian's ultimate trump card? They were about to witness his fate in the face of this dire situation.

Jian Jingtian stepped forward, unleashing a formidable aura of sword energy. His sword Astral Nova materialized, vibrating intensely. With a wave of his hand, the single sword split into two, then multiplied further until a row of blades hovered before him. Each sword exuded a terrifying sharpness.

"DIE!" Jian Jingtian roared as the line of swords surged through the void, closing in on Qin Wentian.

But at that very moment, an inexplicable force surrounded Qin Wentian, pulling the swords towards him. As the blades approached, seemingly about to pierce him, they encountered an invisible barrier.

"DIE!!" Jian Jingtian bellowed once more, channeling his astral energy to push the swords with all his might, aiming to strike down Qin Wentian.

A tempest of sword qi erupted, saturating the air with its deadly edge. With immense effort, Qin Wentian lifted his foot, relying on the swords rushing toward him to complete the final step. As his seventh step landed, Jian Jingtian's row of sharp blades disintegrated, adding to the fury of the sword qi tempest. In an instant, the sword qi detonated, creating a rain of blood that dyed the surroundings crimson. Countless experts fell, their forms shredded by the lethal force of the explosion.

This time, there were no survivors. It was a complete and utter annihilation.

Feng Yunhe and Shang Qi retreated hastily, their Astral Novas trembling under the oppressive sword energy. The pressure was so intense that it felt as if their Astral Novas might shatter at any moment.

Unspeakable terror gripped their hearts. Earlier, Qin Wentian had used this attack to target everyone in his vicinity. But if he were to direct it at a single target, how much more devastating would it be?

This final assault had drained all of Qin Wentian's energy from his sword-aligned Yuanfu. The Seven Annihilations Swordplay exacted a fearsome toll. However, its devastating effect was equally fearsome—more than half of those who had pursued him were either dead or gravely wounded.

"Death to those who obstruct me," Qin Wentian declared coldly. His Astral light flickered as he vanished once more. Ignoring the depletion of his astral energy, he reappeared in front of a cultivator and slammed down with his crimson palm. The cultivator attempted to counter with a palm strike but quickly withered under the influence of the bloodcurse imprint. His arms turned to bones, and the corrosion spread throughout his body, causing him to plummet from the sky.

"BOOM!" With the death of one cultivator, Qin Wentian vanished and reappeared before another victim. This time, he unleashed his Heartbreak Echo, forcing the unfortunate soul to clutch their chest while coughing up blood. Despite their frantic attempts to retreat, it was too late. The victim's heart ruptured, and in an instant, Qin Wentian executed Stellar Transposition, his sword sealing the fate of yet another unfortunate cultivator.

Amidst this relentless onslaught, death hung heavy in the air around Qin Wentian, turning his vicinity into a grim zone of absolute doom!
