Tremble . . .
Qin Wentian's face drained of color when he witnessed the Medicine Sovereign's selfless rush into danger.
"Master!" Mo Qingcheng echoed his fear, her gaze locked on the flames of immortal fire that engulfed the Medicine Sovereign.
"Senior, please stop!" Qin Wentian pleaded with Li Mubai.
"Bzzz!"
The flying boat continued to speed away, leaving no room for Li Mubai to contemplate. He had a stern message for Qin Wentian, "The Medicine Sovereign sacrificed everything to create an opportunity for you. Are you willing to squander the chance he gave his life for?"
"Senior, please take me back," Qin Wentian urged, determination in his eyes.
"Count me in," Mo Qingcheng chimed in.
Li Mubai hesitated, reading the unwavering resolve in their expressions.
"Very well," he conceded. "It seems I've held back too much in the immortal realms; my hot-blooded days are long behind me." A glint of mirth danced in his eyes as he willed the flying boat to reverse course, heading back toward the Medicine Sovereign. Fiery, destructive flames engulfed the Medicine Sovereign, intimidating even the experts from the War Immortal Palace. The Medicine Sovereign was setting his own immortal foundation ablaze.
"He's returning? Is he mad? He's inviting death!" Immortal Han cackled with mad delight as he observed the flying boat's about-face.
"Li Mubai, what the hell are you doing?!" the Medicine Sovereign thundered.
"Old man, I've rediscovered my youthful vigor today. Don't be so furious," Li Mubai replied. "What Wentian said has some truth. Although the immortal realms are captivating, they impose extreme restraint on people like us. I've almost forgotten what it's like to feel my blood boil. Returning to one's homeland—let this battle be my last."
"Hot-bloodedness?" The young War Immortal Palace leader sneered, his fists emanating an overwhelming aura of immortality. "An ant attempting to shake a tree, you're courting death."
"Wait." Qin Wentian intervened. "All you want is this sword, right? I'll give it to you; just take it and leave."
As he spoke, he hurled the sentient demon sword toward the War Immortal Palace group.
Upon seeing this, the gathering storm of might was restrained; the young leader reached out and caught the demon sword, which emitted an unhappy buzz.
"This sword indeed has gained sentience," the young leader marveled. He caressed the sword, his eyes gleaming.
"From now on, follow me. He's not worthy of wielding you," he declared with a grin.
At that moment, Qin Wentian's heart raced with anxiety. They would arrive soon, and he needed to buy more time.
"The sword is yours; what about the woman? Are you willing to hand her over?" Immortal Han sneered, his gaze fixated on Mo Qingcheng. Even in the immortal realms, such beauty was rare, and he wasn't often in a position to claim it. However, in a particle world, the rules were different; he held dominion over everything.
"I doubt you can bear the consequences of your request," Qin Wentian retorted icily.
"HAHAHA, are you trying to jest with me?" Immortal Han advanced, an ominous aura enveloping him. Then, a powerful, engulfing energy encased Qin Wentian.
"Do you think that you can survive just by surrendering the sword? Even if you hand over the woman, it still won't be enough. Your blood qi is mine, and all these people here must die!" Immortal Han's laughter echoed with manic fervor.
"Enough of your nonsense. Kill them now, and we'll spare the woman you desire," the young man said, caressing the sentient demon sword tenderly. For people in the immortal realms, power always took precedence in their hearts, with pleasure a distant second. Power was the key to unlocking life's luxuries.
"Very well," Immortal Han agreed, and the two generations of Sacred Emperors stepped forward, emanating a palpable aura of death.
"You shouldn't have returned," the Medicine Sovereign lamented. If Qin Wentian perished here, how could he ever repay the debts he owed these people?
"Swordsaint Senior, protect us with your sword qi," Qin Wentian instructed. Li Mubai complied, summoning streams of immortal light that coalesced into protective curtains of swords around Qin Wentian and his companions, blocking Immortal Han's long-range attacks.
"Now it all ends," Qin Wentian declared, drawing in a deep breath as he stared at his adversaries. "You, from the War Immortal Palace, are unworthy to wield that sword. From today onward, the Royal Sacred Sect shall vanish from this world forever."
Qin Wentian's voice shifted suddenly, brimming with arrogance. The scene puzzled the War Immortal Palace experts, who began to show interest, but the young leader felt unease. Something was amiss—what were those auras?
He sensed many forces locking onto them.
"What's happening?" Immortal Han's expression shifted. Terrifying auras bore down on them from all directions.
"Swish, swish, swish, swish, swish~"
Immortal light inundated the area, blindingly bright. In the blink of an eye, over ten figures descended, and their numbers continued to swell.
Figures kept appearing, and the atmosphere grew stifling. These figures radiated coronas of immortal light; they were all immortals!
"What's going on? Isn't this an ordinary particle world? Why are there so many immortals here?" The War Immortal Palace leader froze. If a mere power like the Royal Sacred Sect could dominate this world, it was impossible for so many immortal-ranked experts to be present.
The two generations of Sacred Emperors were dumbstruck. Immortal Han's maniacal smile faded instantly. It was evident that these immortals had come for them, as their auras all locked onto the War Immortal Palace group.
Li Mubai and the Medicine Sovereign were equally flabbergasted. No one knew of Di Tian's existence. Earlier, when Qin Wentian spoke of impending help, they had doubted him, not fully comprehending why he'd make such a claim. But the scene before them now shocked them deeply. A thought crossed their minds: did these experts have a connection to Qin Wentian?
"We are emissaries of the War Immortal Palace. Allow me to extend my apologies for any inadvertent disturbance our actions may have caused," the young man at the forefront addressed the newly arrived immortals, his tone now steeped in politeness, devoid of past arrogance or disdain. Among the immortals, a figure shrouded in a bronze mask and armor stepped forward. Only a pair of eyes were visible, the rest of their features obscured, radiating an aura of icy detachment.
This enigmatic figure likely led the group of immortals.
"We regret any inconvenience we may have caused," the young man from the War Immortal Palace politely responded to Di Tian.
Di Tian's gaze swept across the assembly before resting on Qin Wentian. Though the two were one and the same, he couldn't reveal their connection, continuing to play his part in this charade.
"You've arrived," Qin Wentian calmly remarked. As his words hung in the air, the War Immortal Palace experts felt a shiver down their spines. His tone… it hinted at a profound familiarity between Qin Wentian and the masked figure.
"How should we handle this situation?" Di Tian asked emotionlessly. In truth, he had already decided to obliterate them all.
Qin Wentian's gaze shifted to the young man from the War Immortal Palace, his voice cold as he stated, "As I mentioned earlier, you are unworthy to wield that sword."
Next, his eyes fell upon Immortal Han. "Your demise will be agonizing."
Finally, he fixed his gaze on the two Sacred Emperors. "From this day forward, the Royal Sacred Sect will vanish from the Royal Sacred Region. The hegemon of this world shall be the Medicine Sovereign Valley. The foolishness of both of you has led to the annihilation of an entire sect."
"Kill them all, spare no one," Qin Wentian's chilling command echoed through the heavens, sending a shiver down the spines of the War Immortal Palace immortals.
The young man from the War Immortal Palace turned his attention to Di Tian. Surely, he was the commander?
"Sir, let's talk this through. If our actions have offended you, we are willing to make amends," he pleaded.
Di Tian's eyes grew colder. "His words echo my sentiments. Kill them all, leave none alive."
"It's been a while since I've had a good 'exercise,'" a sinister laugh pierced the air. Suddenly, the space transformed into a realm filled with countless fiery-red ancient vines that shot forth toward the War Immortal Palace experts.
The other immortals also unleashed their formidable might. Despair painted the faces of the War Immortal Palace emissaries. These opponents were overwhelmingly powerful, all high-level immortal foundation experts.
"We hail from the War Immortal Palace. Are you all truly committed to this course?" The young man roared. He glared at Qin Wentian and issued a chilling threat, "I don't care who these people are, but you best consider the consequences."
Qin Wentian's expression remained icy. He turned to Di Tian and said, "Let them bear witness for themselves. We'll see if the War Immortal Palace still dares to meddle here."
"Very well," Di Tian agreed. "Seniors, please reveal yourselves."
"Hahaha, what an amusing spectacle. Who on earth are these War Immortal Palace folks?" Laughter, uproarious and mocking, echoed through the air. A suffocating pressure descended, and as more and more experts emerged, the situation escalated. Over ten, no, it appeared to be over a hundred, or perhaps even more, as the fiery vine domain world teemed with countless immortal figures.
The young man representing the War Immortal Palace was trembling, his very foundation shaken. As for the two Sacred Emperors, they were stricken, rendered nearly catatonic by sheer terror. "How can this be? Where have all these immortals come from?"
"Oh, my heart!" Li Mubai audibly swallowed a mouthful of saliva, his dry mouth a testament to his astonishment. He couldn't tear his eyes away from Qin Wentian, his amazement unhidden. Who was this acquaintance of Qin Wentian's, capable of commanding such a legion of immortal-ranked experts?
Could it be someone from the sect Qin Wentian mentioned earlier?
Yes, that's it. Qin Wentian had previously mentioned that he belonged to a powerful group, though he hadn't provided many specifics.
Li Mubai wasn't the only one with such thoughts. The Medicine Sovereign shared the same suspicions. It appeared that this young man was profoundly enigmatic.
"Annihilate them all, leave no survivors. As for this man," Qin Wentian pointed at Immortal Han, "I want him to suffer the most excruciating torment before he meets his end." Immortal Han's visage turned ashen at the command.
"Very well," the immortals chorused in dark mirth. Everyone from the War Immortal Palace had lost the capacity for resistance. How could they even resist in the face of such overwhelming power? These experts held higher cultivation bases and an insurmountable numerical advantage. With this many immortals at their disposal, they could readily trample over the War Immortal Palace, even within the immortal realms.
"Is this how I meet my end, in a mere particle world? Must I truly perish under such absurd circumstances?" The young man from the War Immortal Palace seethed with rage. His gaze burned with fury as he fixed it upon Immortal Han and the aged Sacred Emperor Zai Jiang. He roared, "You two scoundrels have sentenced me to die here! Ahhh! I REFUSE TO ACCEPT THIS FATE! I STILL HAVE UNFULFILLED AMBITIONS, DREAMS OF ASCENDING TO HIGHER REALMS!"
Even among the War Immortal Palace disciples, his talents shone brightly. His youth had preserved his unrealized potential. Yet here he stood, facing the prospect of dying in a particle world for such a ludicrous reason. His heart swelled with boundless regret and an unwillingness to yield. Regrettably, his destiny had been irrevocably sealed!
