Gudako P.O.V
I've been waiting 8 hours for Cu just sitting on a stool behind the front desk, while occasionally talking to Guild Girl about some random stuff. Also it doesn't help that my patience is running really thin. Because now there is some weird rumor going around that I'm the missing princess of some random kingdom that collapsed recently thanks to just my clothes. Not to mention everywhere still hurts!
...
I'm giving him 2 more minutes until I turn him into gacha currency...
Cu: Oi Master! I'm back-
Gudako: Gandr!
I shoot off my new spell and with a finger gun, gathering magic energy that condenses into a small black sphere with a red outline that shoots out at relatively fast speeds. Unfortunately my basic magecraft is swatted away like a toy with a careless flick of Cu's wrist. Damn, I can't even break through C-ranked Magic Resistance on a servant. I guess they really just are that strong.
Cu: Hey! What was that for?!
Gudako: That was for making me wait 6 hours with broken legs and countless bruises, in a dusty. old. STORAGE ROOM!!! *Sigh* Please tell me it at least went well?
Cu: Well we did clear out that camp completely, it even had a goblin mage, so it's some extra pay! Now how's that Maste-
I throw my small pocket knife at him, even if I know it doesn't work because of his protection from arrows, I'll still try damnit! Once again he nonchalantly tilts his head to the side as the knife flies by, striking the quest board instead.
Cu: And what was that one for?
Gudako: For making me sit on this hard and small stool for another 2 hours.
Guild Girl: It was uncomfortable?! You should have told me, I'd be fine l-letting you sit on my lap if it was less painful.
She was a bit red when saying that but still... I missed such a great opportunity! Aghh!
Gudako: Damn you Cu!
Cu: Now what was that one for?!
Gudako: Nothing. *Ahem* Hey miss?
Guild Girl: Yes?
Gudako: How much is the reward, and the bonus for the goblin mage? I'm not that well versed with currency of this value, so would it be enough for a healer and an inn for at least a few days?
Guild Girl: Hmm... it would be enough for around a week and a half at an inn, but factoring someone who can perform healing spells, that would be around 4 days plus the healer. ( But what did she mean not well versed with currency of this value? Don't tell me?! She doesn't know how to even consider such a paltry sum of money compared to her former royal coffers?! )
Not that bad I guess, 4 days is more that enough time to send out my dog to do some dirty work. I also won't be as grumpy because I won't be in pain and actually have a real bed to sleep on. So I guess everything is going quite well for being in such a grimdark world! Also why do I feel like she somehow got another misunderstanding from that statement...
Gudako: Ok then, can you hand the reward then to Lancer over there?
Guild Girl: Alright then, as soon as I've confirmed the details necessary for the quest.
Oh yeah, I registered our names as Master and Lancer on the guild papers, considering that everyone has names related to their jobs or something along those lines. So I wanted to fit that whole bill, because having normal names in this world would stand out a bit, and I don't wanna be asked what sort of profession a "Gudako" is. However, so far it seems Guild Girl is just sorting out some papers and a few confirmation of kills. With a quick shuffle of the papers and a slam on the desk to straighten the stack out, she stamps a few before smiling back at me, then turning her head to Cu.
Guild Girl: Ok! I'm all done with the work needed, since this was a rather large group with a special type of goblin, the pay is 4 gold coins total. Split between your party consisting of Master and Lancer, along with Mr. Goblin Slayer over there, your party gets two gold coins.
She hands the 2 gold coins over to Cu, which he takes with a whistle then flips the coins over to me. Talk about flexing, I can't even whistle or flip coins! This is bullying I tell you!
Cu: Here, Master. I told ya I did well, now you won't have to shoot me with magic when I get back from working since we have funds for a room and healer now.
Gudako: Yeah, sorry about that, but...
It paid that well!? I look at the gold with a suspicious look, really?! That much for just goblins? Actually I wasn't there so I don't know how hard it was... but 2 gold coins?! That seems like a lot!
Guild Girl: ( Why is she looking at the gold coins like that?! This was a relatively well paying quest for goblin slaying and she is looking at it like it's worth less than dirt! This must be the power of royals... )
I sense another misunderstanding in the force. Also is Guild Girl just going to continue looking at me? Because Goblin Slayer is just awkwardly standing there like a lost child. I know I'm pretty and you have a crush on me, but even this is gonna make me blush-
Goblin Slayer: The payment.
Guild Girl: Oh sorry about that! I just got distracted for a bit. Anyways here is your 2 gold coins Mr. Goblin Slayer.
Goblin Slayer: Hmm... good. Now are there any other goblin quests?
Guild Girl: While there aren't that many goblin slaying quests for this late in the evening since it is risky, there is one. But are you sure? That was a rather long quest you just took earlier, you know?
Goblin Slayer: My teammate carried his own weight well enough, so I'm still fine. What about the quest details then?
Guild Girl: It's a cave near a forest up north, apparently some nearby cattle have been going missing, they just attributed it to wild animals until a village girl went missing a day ago.
Great... goblins being goblins, which is acting like scum of the earth.
Goblin Slayer: Hmm... considering it's not a full out raid yet they still must be growing in numbers. It's best to take them out as soon as possible, I'll take it.
Guild Girl: Alright then Mr. Goblin Slayer, the quest is yours. Also there is still around 3 more open slots for this quest, so how about it Master and Lancer.
Cu: Hmm, I'd be fine with it myself, but I'm not so sure about my Master over there. She is rather impatient about these things and I do kinda need to get her over to an inn and healer.
Guild Girl: If that's the case then I wouldn't mind handling her myself, so don't feel burdened by that.
I am not impatient! You try being in my situation you shitty spearman! But besides that I am thankful Guild Girl offered to help, but that red tinge on her face makes me suspect hidden motives, not that I think she would be the kind of person to take advantage of me.
Gudako: Well... I don't want to bother you too much when you still have a job to do, but then again I still do need a bit more funds to be safe so... let me think for a bit, is that ok?
Guild Girl: It's more than good enough, I'm sure Mr. Goblin Slayer over there has to restock on a few items, so there is more than enough time for you to think.
Goblin Slayer: I don't typically take on teammates, but your friend over there was useful, so I'll consider it. I'll be waiting as long as I take to restock my items, I'll leave you behind if you take any longer than that.
Oh wow, looks like he is opening up earlier than usual. Not that it's necessarily a bad thing.
Cu: Damn, talk about a cold shoulder! I don't really like stiff people but you were strong enough to work with, so see ya later maybe!
Guild Girl: Don't be too harsh on him, he may seem cold but he is a nice person... hopefully.
Gudako: Well we'll see about that part. Anyways I'm gonna go think on whether on not to take that quest on this stool... that I still can't get off of myself...
Goblin Slayer then takes off to probably get some new weapons and equipment, and Cu tries to hit on some women before giving up and going over to play darts while throwing them with way too much strength. As for Guild Girl she just goes back to handing out quests and dealing with more paperwork, ughh, it seems even in fantasy the terror of office work is present in some way.
Oh yeah! Speaking of the goblin quests, I wonder if the system is gonna reward me for clearing it. I mean I didn't really do any work but I still technically completed my first real quest at the guild. So come on and reward me please. I want to roll more gacha already! Come on, just a little roll-

[ Just say or think when host wishes to use gacha. ]
This is way more than a little roll! But actually this gave me an idea. If I can get another servant I can have cu be my guard dog and then have the other do quests. Maybe switch it around sometimes or depending on the type of quest. But basically having 2 servants will allow me to do more things than usual and of course get even more rolls for the gacha! Anyways I need to roll in a more private spot, so back to the storage room I guess...
Gudako: Hey Cu!
He hears me and so he quickly walks back over and leaps over the counter to get to me, much to the surprise of the people working at it. Seriously, stop showing off your A rank agility, I can barely get out of a pool.
Cu: What is it Master?
Gudako: Can you bring me back to the storage room?
Cu: Why? I thought you hated that place so much for waiting how many hours was it again? Oh yeah! Waited in there for 8 hours that you decided to shoot magic at me when I just got back.
Gudako: Don't be sassy, just bring me there.
Cu: Sheesh, alright. Up you go!
I get picked up and he proceeds walking over to the storage room. I really hope I can get that healer soon, I don't want to have to be like this for my entire stay in a fantasy world. Also why is he holding me like a stray cat?! Hold me with more care damnit!
Guild Girl: Is she fine? She looks uncomfortable.
Cu: Nah, she's alright. I think she just needed a bit of alone time in the back, the guild is noisy after all.
Guild Girl: Oh alright, see you two later then!
She smiles a bright smile at me before getting back to work.... that smile... that damn smile. I made her fall in love with me with my special skills, but she does it with just a smile? Hacks! Cheating! This is unfair! Enough with that though, I'm plopped back down on the bench inside the storage room by Cu.
Gudako: Alright then, thank you for the assistance. Now I kind of need you to shoo off to the outside again.
Cu: Sure, but why exactly?
Gudako: I'm about to do a little possibly a servant summoning. I need you to make sure someone doesn't barge in and interfere, got it? You can come in about 10 minutes to be safe.
Cu: Got it. Looks like I'm getting a co-worker then huh? Make sure it isn't some asshole or arrogant bastard! Damn Archers...
Yeah, I can tell who he has a vendetta against based off of that alone. Well I mean those two would be useful right now, but I would rather not have my servants getting into petty squabbles or fights. Which is also unfortunately an inevitable thing as I get more of them, not to mention how in the world different characters from different worlds would react to each other. What a headache... which I'll solve with gacha! System, roll the gacha!
[ Gacha initiated. ]
[ Processing... ]
[ Congratulations! You've won a cup of lukewarm water (E) ]
I mean, a drink is nice I guess? So I take it and begin taking a sip, it's actually pretty good water-
[ Congratulations! You've won a servant! ]
PFTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT! *Cough Cough* Excuse me?! This fast?! Also I guess I never did actually see how servants are summoned since I kinda... passed out the first time.
[ Revealing... ]
[ Congratulations! You've won Hassan of the Cursed Arm! ]
Oh! An Assassin! While in-game they may not be the most useful unless they happen to be a certain Grand Servant, love god, or fox. In real life having a stealthy person who can do a bunch of various things is actually really useful! Plus not only does Cu have a one shot to your heart ability, so does this guy! Everyone gets a free heart surgery! Anyways as I think this, I see a magic circle materialize before a bunch of dark smoke is released. It clears away slowly, revealing my new servant and personal assassin.

Hassan: I heard your calls from the shadows. Servant, Assassin. I greet you, Lord Mage.
Gudako: Welcome! Wait just a second though, the rolls are still going!
Hassan: Rolls? Very well then, Lord Mage.
Gudako: Also can you please not call me Lord Mage?
Hassan: Ah, I understand. I shall call you simply as Lord.
Gudako: You- you know what, that's fine. I'll sort this out later. I have gacha to get back to!
Hassan: I understand. I remember once of a previous master speaking of such things, it was very important to them. I shall stick to the shadows unseen as I always do, Lord.
With that he just seemingly vanishes. I mean this dark and dusty storage room is sort of hard to see in but still, that was pretty impressive. I mean they don't dedicate their whole lives to the craft without something to show for it. Back to the gacha though! System, continue!
[ Congratulations! You've won a Potato (E) ]
Shit! Next!
-----
It was all shit... all of it! I don't need a goddamn rotten watermelon or half broken beer mug! I got so much trash that the system actually gave me a trash can for it! Ok... breath... it's fine. I still have 4 more rolls left, that's a whole almost quests worth. Even if they all suck I still have Hassan, but I really hope it doesn't!
[ Congratulations! You've won a Swallow's Feather (E-) ]
Wow, thanks.
[ Congratulations! You've won a Dungeon Key (D++) ]
Oh? Something possibly good besides Hassan?
[ Congratulations! You've won a High-Quality Ballpoint Pen (C) ]
Actually pretty convenient, I'll take it!
[ Congratulations! You've won a Jeanne d'Arc Alter... ]
Hah! You can't fool me this time system! You didn't announce it was a servant, I won't be fooled twice by your games!
[ Congratulations! You've won a Jeanne d'Arc Alter Keychain (B) ]
Figures, also why is it so high ranked for just a key chain? I mean it looks kinda nice but that doesn't warrant a B rank? Eh, probably because it relates to a really hot women. God I hope she comes home soon- I mean Guild Girl is the only one for me! No French here! No sir! Anyways with that all done, time to call in my servants.
Gudako: Hey guys, I'm done!
I then hear shuffling from outside and a wisp of wind beside me. It appears Hassan got here first as he was still in the room somehow, and Cu followed shortly after.
Hassan: I am here, Lord-
Cu: Hey Master-
...
Uhm... what's with the pause and awkward silence?
Cu: Oi, so ya back for round two, eh? Trust me, I'll win this time!
Uh... I did not consider this.
Hassan: I do not know what you speak of, enemy servant. However I can oddly remember my defeat at the hands of a knight of the round. So I'll be taking out my aggression on you, I may not be specialized for frontal assaults, but I consider myself a jack of all trades. So, come.
So it appears Cu only remembers the grail wars, but Hassan only remembers the Camelot singularity? Weird... but I guess it must take the most optimal one or memories somehow. Not sure really, but if it works, it works.
Gudako: Stop! Stop!
Cu: Yes?
Hassan: Understood?
Gudako: Ok, let me clear this up. From what I heard, you two might have fought each other as servants previously, but both of you are from... how can I word this... different worlds? Timelines? Anyways basically not the same guy you fought, Cu. So both of you, stand down.
Hassan: If you say so, Lord.
Cu: Hmm, I don't really get it, but if Master says so. At least it isn't the worst servant you could've summoned, so I guess I'm lookin' forward to working with you.
Hassan: While we may have gotten off on the wrong foot, I feel the same way.
Gudako: Alright then, for your initiation as a servant, I'll be having Hassan take the goblin quest. Cu, you go deal with finding a healer and inn, as well as being my personal Cu car for now. So, let's get going!
*Tap* Tap* *Tap*
Frantic running? Don't tell me Guild Girl is coming to check now, how do I explain the tall dark skeleton man in the guild's closet. Uh, think me! Think!
Guild Girl: There's been an update! It's about the- the... who is that?
Great... the one thing I didn't want to have happen.
Gudako: Uhm...
Cu: How do we explain this exactly, Master?
Hassan: It is fine you two, allow me. I am the personal assassin of my Lord over there. I am Hassan-i-Sabbah! But you also may simply call me Assassin or Hassan, as others have.
Guild Girl: Nice to meet you... ( She has a personal assassin?! Just how important was she?! )
By the shivering smile on her face I feel like his usage of Lord screwed up the misunderstanding even more. At least people won't mess with me easily in fear of screwing around with powerful people, hopefully. Not sure how much power a not real princess of a fallen kingdom has.
Gudako: *Ahem* What is the update about though?
Guild Girl: Oh, sorry! It's an urgent update, 2 children and 3 women have gone missing, along with the corpses of a family found just half an hour ago. It's terrible...
Gudako: Then-
What's with this pressure in the air? Is it from Cu? I look over but he seems to noticed it too, and is looking at... Hassan?
Hassan: Dead children... Tristan... I'll take this quest. I don't know much, but killing is my specialty.
Guild Girl: Alright then, but you do need to register if you aren't. Not to mention it's dark out right now, so it will be more difficult.
Hassan: No matter, the darkness is my ally. If I may be so bold, can you take care of the registry, Lord? I believe this is a matter I must make haste of.
Gudako: S-sure, go right ahead.
Hassan: I thank you, I do not wish to see any more tragedies in my time. I will be going now.
With that he seemingly vanishes into thin air. Damn, if Cu was fast then A+ rank agility on Hassan is absolutely crazy.
With that he seemingly vanishes into thin air. Damn, if Cu was fast then A+ rank agility on Hassan is absolutely crazy.
Guild Girl: If I may ask, what was that about?
Gudako: It's personal, don't mind him too much.
Guild girl: I see, then I won't ask about it anymore if it's like that. But about his registry?
Gudako: Oh alright, just hand it to me.
That's how I got my new Assassin I guess, and how I am still in this... GODDAMN STORAGE ROOM!
