Silver Back Centipede

Dan crawled out of the tent, his skin rubbing against the uneven soil beneath him. The earthen scent of forest filled his nose as he tried not to cringe at the rubbing of his skin against the soil. The rustling of the leaves overpowered any other sound in the surroundings.

Dan went to the left of the tent and looked behind it to the same scenery as the front of the tent, a pile of mega leaves, some green and some brown. But there was nothing other than that.

"Did I hear wrong? " Dan thought as he stared at the normal piles of leaves behind the tent he had erected. He saw no movement there.

But then suddenly, Dan heard the sound of crunching leaves again. It got louder as the leaves before him shook as if something was approaching.

Dan's face froze and he backed off a little reflexively, trying to increase the distance between the pile of leaves and him while his eyes remained there.
