Elara clarified, "No, we don't face elimination after that. However, our research facility would receive less funding if we perform poorly."

Gon asked, "Can you leave this facility?"

Elara explained, "Apart from that one annual meeting, we're not allowed to go out.

She then smiled beautifully, adding, "Well, we're rewarded with a special vacation for a week on a private island."

 "As those who rank last in the comparison are sent directly back to their assigned tasks." 

Intrigued, Gon asked, "So, you've never been to a city? Or interacted with society at large?"

Clara shook her head, "No, that's why I'm curious to see what's out there."

"Now that it's come to this, my responsibility for this facility should also be ended."

Trying to understand her situation, Gon asked, "So, other than that holiday, do you spend every day here in this facility, all by yourself?"
