chapter 8) 28 days later Henry Bowles is his group shooting at a bunch of zombies is attacking an enemy community at the same time that shooting at them is at the zombies' main hideout, where they keep prisoners and keep all the supplies that they use during raids. (current day)

Henry stands next to his father as his father watches the latest video feed that his son has been monitoring. The video consists of Henry sitting in his truck and driving to the scene. Henry parks his truck at the opposite end of the road from where his group has parked and waits patiently for his fellow members to join him. A few minutes later everyone arrives and Henry watches silently as the five members of the group walk down the road, all of them carrying automatic weapons.

Henry turns off the screen after another minute passes. His father glances back at his son. "What's wrong, Henry?" He asks softly. "You look tense. Is everything okay with your friends? You haven't said much lately."

"Everything's fine, dad," Henry reassures him. "It's just that the others weren't at the scene when I arrived so I went to wait for them outside. I should probably go check on them before they arrive," Henry tells him before exiting his truck. He puts his keys in his pocket and then exits his vehicle before locking it and leaving it running.

Once the door shuts behind him, Henry begins heading toward where his family's SUV is still parked. As he walks through the streets he notices that people are giving him weird looks, but he ignores them, moving in his usual confident pace towards his friends' vehicles. A few moments later he's standing by their cars, looking up at the large sign that reads: Welcome To Hodge Podge!

A few of them begin to glance at Henry, but most continue to ignore him, seemingly unaware that the man who'd just walked past them has apparently appeared from nowhere. It isn't long before all of them have gathered around the sign as well.

Henry raises an eyebrow when he notices that most of his friends have arrived. "Hey guys. What's going on?" He questions them, wondering if they've decided that they want to come back to camp with him. He watches as several different conversations take place simultaneously, but none of them seem to make sense to him. Eventually, they stop talking about the sign and start discussing something else.

Henry sighs and rolls his eyes slightly before turning his attention back towards his family's vehicle. "Alright, guys, let's go." He informs them in a serious voice, waiting until everyone has left their vehicles and they are standing together, in line behind Henry. He takes out the key and unlocks the doors of the three vehicles. After he's done that he moves forward to open the driver's seat of the SUV to grab his belongings from the back and closes it once he's finished.

"You're staying here tonight, yeah?" One of his friends asks him. There is a small frown on his face as he speaks. Henry notices this and wonders why. "You shouldn't leave your car parked out here while everyone is on their way to your dad's."

"Why do I need to move my car? We aren't leaving town yet. Besides, there's someone in charge here that has to stay in the car while I'm gone, remember?" Henry answers with an amused chuckle.

The man rolls his eyes and shakes his head, causing Henry's shoulders to shake lightly in amusement.

"Let's move out." Henry orders, starting to step toward the SUV only to find himself stopped abruptly by one of his best friends. He turns quickly when he feels someone's grip on his arm tighten.
