Minister Hughes was very surprised; the Department of Justice had never got involved with the York-King Group and rarely mingled with the business world. He never expected Mr. King of the York-King Group to personally request a meeting with him.
He looked at the business card in his hand thoughtfully, having just watched Assistant Loren, who had left after uttering a few intriguing words.
He turned and called the Secretary behind him, "Bring me the application documents and the documents for commutation of sentences that Mr. Carter wrote while inside prison. I need to take a look."
The Secretary responded, "Alright."
Minister Hughes carefully clenched Luke Laurent's business card, thought a bit longer, and said, "He probably won't be released for now. Let the people inside know so they wouldn't transfer him to an isolation cell. Let him continue staying in his current prison cell. Also, bring me the materials when he was first sentenced, I'll review them again."
