Suzanne Trent had dialed Mason King's private number, uncertain if he kept this cell phone within his reach when he was at the company.
The phone rang a few times before it was answered: "Suzanne Trent?"
The man's deep and calm voice was at the other end of the line, clearing Suzanne's somewhat agitated mood caused by Cherry Yang.
She didn't realize that she was acting a bit shy like a little girl even though she was just talking to him on the phone. Biting her lips, she whispered, "Don't favor Lily too much. If you spoil her rotten, no one will be able to handle her in the future."
A few seconds of silence lingered before the electronic sound of a data page closing could be faintly recognized. The man then said, "When you were out of control, didn't I manage you just the same?"
Suzanne was startled: "When was I ever out of control? The most I've ever done is block your messages and calls!"
"Didn't you add an extra lock to the door to your apartment on the 31st floor?"
