Mrs King elegantly sipped from her cup, couldn't care less to respond to him, she pretended not to see him so he would not annoy her; she simply looked at Lily who was busily painting, her eyes filled with joy.
The Old Master thought Lily would be painting for a long while, but to his surprise, not even a few minutes had passed when Lily announced, "I'm done with my painting! Great-grandfather!"
"Look at this, just look at my great-granddaughter, not only does she excel in painting but she also paints quickly without dilly-dallying!" Mr. King happily turned to Uncle Lamon and boasted.
Uncle Lamon had just walked over to Lily's side to prevent her from falling and was preparing to lift her from the chair. He casually glanced at Lily's masterpiece and heard Mr. King's words, the crinkles on his face almost twitched with effort to hold back laughter.
Mr. King reached out expectantly to see the painting, Lily quickly handed it over, "Great-grandfather, do you like my painting?"
