Chapter Eighteen: Everything Happens Too Fast

"Find out what happened tonight?" Daniel Cooper looked at the phone call record that was mysteriously hung up and frowned slightly.

The events of the previous night left a shadow in her heart, so that day she took a detour instead of walking through the corridor and returned to the hospital through the main entrance.

She had no interest in engaging with them, so she went straight to see Ruby Shane to hand over her shift. As soon as she met Ruby, she was pulled aside, "Amelia, have you offended anyone recently?"

She pretended to be surprised, "Why do you ask?"

Ruby looked around and lowered her voice, "Early this morning, a post suddenly appeared on the hospital forum claiming that you've been having an affair with a married man and have been kept as a mistress. Even the address of the villa was posted, giving a detailed account of the situation. Now, it's spreading like wildfire throughout the hospital."

Amelia's eyes darkened as she opened the forum on her phone, seeing the anonymous post that specifically targeted her and even included a photo of her leaving the villa that morning.

Her first thought was Director Huang, but upon further consideration, she realized it couldn't be him, as he couldn't have known about her staying at the villa.

Before she could figure it out, a young nurse hurried over, "Dr. Foster, the Dean wants you to come to his office."

Everything happened so quickly.

However, her expression remained calm. After so many things had happened in these three years, she had already honed herself into steel.

She used the excuse that she was feeling unwell and asked Ruby to draw her blood for testing before heading to the Dean's office with a composed face.

Inside, almost all the leaders of the hospital were present, each with a stern expression, especially the head of the administration department, who questioned her as soon as she entered, "Amelia Foster, please explain the photo on the forum."

As expected, it was a minefield.

She looked calm and composed, "I left my own house. What is there to explain?"

The person sneered, "Your family's villa has been confiscated by the bank since the Fosters went bankrupt. Everyone in the hospital knows about it, and your salary is clear to the finance department. Even if you haven't eaten or had a drink in these years, it's not enough to buy back even a corner of that house, right?"

Amelia didn't pick up on her words, but instead looked straight at the top leader who hadn't spoken yet, "Director Huang, can I speak with you privately?"

Speaking privately with a female subordinate who had been entangled in a scandal was taboo for male leaders. Just when everyone thought he would definitely refuse, he nodded, "All right, you all go out first, I'll talk with Dr. Foster."
