The atmosphere suddenly turned stiff.
Lily didn't know what to say, feeling like anything she might say would be branded as 'wishful thinking.'
She hung her head low, staring blankly at her intertwined fingers.
"Full?" Aidan Lucas's magnetic and cold voice suddenly came from above her head.
Lily nodded vigorously, "I'm full."
Aidan Lucas then stopped talking and stood up.
One hand slipped behind her neck, and the other under her knees, without an explanation, he simply lifted her up and headed towards the bathroom.
"Ah, I can do it myself…" Lily hadn't finished her sentence when she was silenced by the man's icy, merciless glare.
She could only sullenly bury her head in his chest, "Okay, as long as you're happy."
Aidan Lucas didn't respond; seeing her nestled obediently in his arms, an unusual emotion surfaced in his heart.
In the cold hue of his eyes, hidden from Lily's view, a flicker of struggle passed by.
But soon, it was swallowed by indifference.
