Chapter 492: None of Your Business

By right, Max Sully, who usually exuded a nonchalant and defiant vibe, should be thrilled to see that his sister's life had been spared upon her release from prison. But today, he was drinking plenty but seemed excessively gloomy — quite unlike his usual self.

At Keira's question, Max paused for a moment. His eyes lit up with a tinge of drunkenness when he looked up at Keira: "Of course I'm delighted. How could I not be happy about Alice's release? Don't you think so, Young Master Sulliven?"

Somewhat inexplicably, Max had once again directed his attention towards Joshua, causing Keira to frown.

"I, for one, do not concern myself with irrelevant people." Joshua responded emotionlessly. He was unfazed by Max's peculiar attention towards him today.

Max lowered his head, clenching his wineglass tighter and tighter till his fingertips turned blue. With a bang, he put his wine glass heavily on the table: "Indeed, Joshua Sulliven is Joshua Sulliven, with power and influence everywhere!"
