The Storyteller

"Unwilling to let her queen suffer from further abuse, the brave little bunny leaped into the air to shield Chang'er from the hits and blows that were coming her way," Tuzi told the large crowd of villagers, who had gathered around to listen to this incredible retelling of the legendary folklore.

Her spectators were so engrossed in the storyline, they were clutching tightly to the corner of their tables, completely taken in by the young woman's words.

"The poor little bunny was painfully beaten over and over again. She could have escaped, but she did not want to leave her poor queen at the hands of that miserable miserable man," Tuzi continued, shaking her head pitifully, while the ribbons in her dark hair bounced.

The children in the audience began to cry, while burying their faces in the shirt of their parents. "Don't hurt the bunny…" they whimpered. The adults were trying to console them, while they too were sucked in by the story.
