The Goddess's heart whined like a puppy who was denied food scraps at the dinner table.
She took a deep breath before responding. Her voice sounded shaky. "I'm… I'm perfectly fine, Sky. Thank you for your help though."
His disappointment was immediately evident on his face, as he too, looked like a poor mongrel denied his fair share of treats.
"Are you sure I can't do anything to change your mind…?" Sky batted his pretty eyelashes to her, lightly brushing his finger tips against her shoulders.
Her skin was addicted to his touch. It felt hot and she wanted more. But instead of giving into her desires, she reluctantly looked away from him, which was a difficult task itself.
"I'm okay now, Sky…" she said unconvincingly, denying him again. "Thank you for offering though." She thought the last sentence sounded impersonal, even as the words were leaving her mouth.
