Chapter 18: The Mister Doesn't Like Noise

This sudden voice startled Michelle Campbell.

"Miss Campbell, I've come to deliver some clothes." From outside the door, a servant's voice resonated.

"Come in!" Michelle Campbell immediately withdrew her gaze and stood upright.

The servant pushed the door open, with a stack of clothes in hand.

After the clothes were put away, the servant turned around to leave.

But was stopped by Michelle Campbell.

"Could you wait a moment!"

The servant halted, turned back to her and said, "Miss Campbell, is there anything else you need?"

"Actually, there's nothing important, I just feel it's too quiet around here?" Michelle Campbell glanced around. Perhaps she was more accustomed to her busy home, so it felt strange being here.

"Mister dislikes noise."

"Can the lights be made brighter? It feels a bit dim!" Michelle Campbell nodded after a brief thought, then glanced up at the ceiling lights.

She wasn't accustomed to dim lighting!

"The Mister dislikes too much light." The servant answered again.

"..." Michelle Campbell was lost for words. She really wanted to respond with, 'Your Mister has lots of dislikes.'

"Miss Campbell, anything else? I'll leave if there's nothing further. The Mister doesn't like…"

"Alright, stop informing me about Samuel Noah Jackson's preferences. Where is he now?" Unable to bear it, Michelle Campbell interrupted. She didn't want to keep hearing how 'their Mister doesn't like this or that.' It was as if there was nothing in the world that he liked!

"He should be in his study," the servant replied.

Michelle Campbell nodded, "I understand, you can go now."

"Yes." The servant nodded and then turned to leave, gently closing the door behind her.

Michelle Campbell sighed. She couldn't help but murmur to herself, "This Samuel Noah Jackson is really exciting."

The richer the person, the stranger their temperament is. And it's not a lie.

Take Samuel Noah Jackson, for example. His wealth is extraordinary, but his temperament is equally eccentric!

......

After bathing, Michelle Campbell changed into the undergarments and sleep dress the servant brought, and after drying her hair, left the bathroom.

As soon as she came out, she wanted to check the time, only to discover that there wasn't even a clock in the bedroom.

The room was very quiet, so quiet that Michelle Campbell found it uncomfortable.

And to make matters worse, there wasn't even a television in the bedroom to kill time.

Looking around for quite a while, she found a pen and paper in the bedroom- the only things to keep her occupied.

She sat down on the carpet beside the sofa, placing the paper on the coffee table, and began drawing with the pencil.

Michelle Campbell's major was fashion design, plus she hadn't finished her school assignments, so she sat here and started sketching out her designs.

However, after drawing a few strokes, she gave up and put down her pencil...

It's too quiet here, so quiet that it's making her uncomfortable...

But that's not the main point. The main point is that this silence was beginning to scare her.

She would admit that this was an after-effect of watching too many horror movies recently!

The eerily silent atmosphere was giving Michelle Campbell chills.

......

In his study,

Samuel Noah Jackson was looking at the document about the Duncan Family that his assistant just sent over. When he flipped to Aaron Duncan's page, the hand he had resting on the side tightened slightly.

His gaze fell on the relationship section between Michelle Campbell and Aaron Duncan.

Engaged couple.

His black pupils flashed a complex light.
