"Father always told me that I don't have a mother. So... I think he's right." Emily glanced at the other person, then couldn't help turning and running out the family door, rushing into the rain.
What mother... She didn't need one at all.
"Emily..." Behind her, the woman's voice was calling.
But Emily gritted her teeth and ran forward with big strides...
Until she reached the intersection and saw a taxi parked there.
"You're finally back. I haven't given you your change yet." The friendly driver uncle saw her coming and quickly lowered the car window.
Emily opened the car door and got in.
"Keep the change. Take me to another place, please." Emily sniffled and, with a face drenched with rainwater and tears, looked at the driver and said.
The driver nodded repeatedly and handed her a tissue.
"Wipe yourself off. Don't catch a cold, or your parents will worry." The driver kindly said to her.
Parents... Hearing the driver's words, Emily couldn't help but start crying again.
