Her voice was weak, faintly choked with sobs.

Sherry White cried out, "Trenton, how can you treat me like this when I love you so much? I could give up everything for you, yet you are pushing me away for another woman."
"This is for your good and mine." Perhaps he had been too nice to her, which had prevented her from accepting the reality over the years.
He had done everything he possibly could for her, beyond that, he was unable to do more.
