"All these years, only you haven't changed," he said with a smile, shaking his head. "I'm no longer who I used to be. I thought I could still do what I did three years ago, but actually... I've softened. I can't bear to make her continue to hate me, Tilly, after all these years. I could push her away before, but now I can't. I know what it feels like to live without her.
