Wayne Bailey was getting ready to go upstairs, with Anna Jadwin in his arms.
Now that he saw Charles Harrington, he wanted to beat him up all over again, because Anna Jadwin had become much nicer to him and no longer as terse.
Charles Harrington spoke in a low voice, "Don't you want to know what the Blue Tourmaline is used for?"
Anna Jadwin's body stiffened, "Would you tell us?"
"I've given you the gemstone, why wouldn't I tell you?" Charles said with a smile that wasn't quite a smile.
They had obtained the gemstone through shameless methods, so Anna Jadwin really didn't expect Charles Harrington to tell them how to use it.
Thus, both she and Wayne Bailey tacitly agreed not to press Charles any further.
She knew very well that Wayne Bailey had given Charles Harrington face—hadn't pushed him—for her sake.
"Scarlett, just make me a bowl of noodles and I'll tell you," he said.
