Chapter 9: Because James Black Dislikes

By the time they had descended to the underground parking lot and got into Jane Sampson's car, Bright Sampson's game had already been wiped out. Bright Sampson sat despairingly in the passenger seat, sighing long and helplessly, then found the leisure to ask, "Sister, where did you steal the courage today?"

If she hadn't stolen that courage, how could she dare to defy Brother James Black?

Hadn't Brother James Black carried her into the bedroom to change her clothes? How could she have sneaked away?

Jane Sampson was busy applying makeup, completely ignoring Bright Sampson. Usually, Jane Sampson wouldn't dare to challenge James Black or say no to him, but now things were different.

Today, Jane Sampson was determined to wear that outfit out, even if it meant James Black getting angry. If worse came to worst, it would just lead to a divorce!

She'd been thinking about getting a divorce anyway!

Having come back to life a year earlier, divorcing one year ahead of time meant another year of freedom for her. Wasn't that even better?

After watching Jane Sampson finish applying her lipstick, Bright Sampson couldn't help but compliment her. "Sister, you look especially beautiful today; even I feel like you've become a different person. I mean, you're obviously pretty and have a great figure. Why did you always dress like an elder aunt before? You were always bare-faced, not even wearing lipstick."

"Because James Black doesn't like it," Jane Sampson replied indifferently as she put the lipstick back in her purse. She then took out her mobile phone and quickly sent a text message to James Black, telling him that she and Bright Sampson were waiting for him in the carpark downstairs.

Jane Sampson had the courage to run down first but didn't have the nerve not to wait for James Black, because angering him could lead to more than just a divorce. When James Black got angry, it was really intimidating.

"Then why did you decide to change your look today?" asked Bright Sampton, feeling that he didn't quite understand his sister anymore. James Black had made it clear that he didn't like her dressing this way, otherwise, he wouldn't have carried her to the bedroom to change. But after going into the bedroom, she didn't change her clothes after all.

Jane Sampson shot Bright Sampson a 'are you an idiot?' look, lazily responding, "Because today, I like dressing this way. Who is James Black to tell me what to do? Why should I wear what he likes based on his preferences?"

Meanwhile, the very person Jane Sampson referred to dismissively was standing in the living room at home looking for someone. He had not found the red dress Jane Sampson was supposed to change into in the bedroom, nor the white dress, and Jane Sampson and Bright Sampson were nowhere to be found in the living room either.

It was not until he picked up his mobile phone and saw the text message that James Black realized they were downstairs waiting for him in the underground parking lot. He changed his jacket and headed out immediately. Jane Sampson's car was easy to spot, parked right at the space by the elevator exit. Seeing Bright Sampton in the passenger seat, James Black opened the rear seat door and got in.

As soon as Jane Sampson heard the door close, she quickly started the car and drove out, cautiously observing through the car mirror to see James Black's expression after discovering she hadn't changed her clothes.

Good, as expected, his face was dark, staring at her with an expression that seemed to hesitate whether to throw her back home or not.

The car had already left the residential community, and James Black ultimately remained silent, sitting erect in the rear seat. Dressed in a suit instead of his team uniform, his silent, stern face resembled that of a senior leader about to conduct an inspection.

His aura was so strong that even Bright Sampson silently quit his game, put away his mobile phone, and copied James Black's posture, sitting properly in the passenger seat without uttering a word.
