Chapter 139: Returning to Black Residence

James Black came out of the kitchen, and Jane Sampson was still sitting in the same spot, her hands gripping the back of the chair, her chin resting on the back of her hands, looking like a despondent basset hound at a loss of what to be melancholy about.

After James Black went back to his room to change into another set of clothes, Jane Sampson saw that he was getting ready to leave the house, she stood up from the chair and followed him, nonchalantly asking, "Where are you going?"

"Back to the Black Residence." James Black was already at the doorway when he heard Jane Sampson ask him, he finished changing his shoes, looked back, and added, "Do you want to come back with me?"

Jane Sampson declined without hesitation, shaking her head vigorously, probably fearing that James Black would forcefully drag her back, so she bolted back to her room.
