"I want to give you an answer again today," Jane Sampson gently bit her lip, then took a deep breath, her gaze never leaving James Black's face, meeting his eyes head-on.
"I'll only say it once, so you have to listen carefully," Jane paused for a few seconds before speaking again.
James Black didn't know what she would say, but at this moment, as he waited for her response, he subconsciously held his breath.
He watched her lips part slowly, gently telling him,
"James Black, I love you."
Five words, yet each one burrowed deeply into his heart, taking root.
James Black was dumbstruck, remaining so for a long time until she ran towards him in a full dash, only then did he come to his senses, instinctively standing up and wrapping his arms around the person hurling into his embrace.
Jane jumped out of the bed and directly hugged James Black, worried that he hadn't heard her clearly, she tiptoed and repeated in his ear, "I love you."
