The court session resumed, and Noelle Nichols took her seat on the witness stand to face Allen Rivera's cross-examination.
"Miss Nichols, just now, Henry Jameson said that you argued with the victim and then left his house. Where did you go?"
"I went home."
"Did anyone see you go home?"
"No."
"Can anyone verify that you stayed at home the entire time?"
"No, I was alone at home."
"Miss Nichols, what did you do at home?"
Noelle Nichols hesitated for a moment before saying, "I... I was feeling awful, went home to take a shower, and then... slept."
Rivera asked her, "After such a fierce argument, could you really sleep?"
"I lay in bed but couldn't fall asleep..." Nichols said, "Later, the police called to tell me that... that Sean Patterson was dead."
"So during the time of the incident, you were just lying in bed, doing nothing more than lying there?"
Nichols nodded, "You could say that."
