After everyone left, only Purple Summers and Alexander Summers remained in the ward.
Alexander asked her softly, "How do you feel?"
Purple took a slow breath and said hoarsely, "It hurts."
Alexander's eyes were slightly moist.
He reached out and gently touched her hair, his voice tender, "It will get better."
He turned around, poured half a cup of warm water, inserted a straw, and brought it to her lips.
Purple opened her mouth slightly, took the straw in her mouth to drink, her lips becoming moist and with that, gaining a hint of a rosy tint. Alexander then thought she looked like a little kitten, nestled against his big hand, drinking water as if she couldn't live without him.
A strange emotion surged in his heart, like a mix of being touched and satisfied, and his chest felt warm and full.
After Purple had some water, he couldn't help but say, "Do you really want to marry me that badly?"
