Purple Summers called Jane McCain, and it took a while for the call to be answered.
Jane's voice was hoarse, as if she had been crying.
Purple carefully inquired about her situation and found out that Jane was now living with her mother, which somewhat reassured her.
"It's good that your mom is with you; I was worried you were alone," Purple said. "You shouldn't rush to go abroad now; just rest and recuperate for a while..."
Before Purple could finish, Jane suddenly raised her voice, "Go abroad?! I'm never going abroad again! I'm not going anywhere!"
Purple was stunned, "Janie..."
"Purple, can you believe it? He actually hid a razor blade in the towel!" Jane's voice was ragged, torn between shock and anger, "If he had coaxed me into the bathroom, I would already have my throat slit and be lying in the bathtub waiting to die!... Liar, everything was fake! All a deception! Even his name was fake!..."
