After a morning of verbal skirmishes, the judge announced a recess, and the court hearing would continue in the afternoon.
Purple Summers joined Marcel Jefferson, Aria Jackson, and Zara Jameson to find a restaurant near the courthouse to have lunch together and take a short break.
"The prosecution must be nearly finished presenting their evidence, right?" Marcel Jefferson said, "It seems like there's only one witness left."
"Yeah, just Dion Benson left." Aria Jackson looked at Purple Summers, "Are you confident about the cross-examination?"
Purple Summers slowly tasted her bowl of steamed egg with shrimp, lifting her gaze at the question, "Fifty-fifty, I guess."
Zara's heart tightened at this, and she expressed her concern, "Will Jane McCain be convicted? Do we still have a chance to appeal?"
"Stay calm," Aria Jackson gently patted her shoulder, "The fifty percent she's talking about is the chance of sending Dion Benson to jail. Jane McCain will definitely be fine."
