In a training hall as large as a basketball court, Netero and Morel were clearly holding back, merely engaging in a sparring match rather than a serious fight.
Even so, Kurapika, Melody, Meleoron, and Ikalgo watched intently, unable to look away.
Even a warm-up between two masters of Nen was enough to leave them in awe.
At that moment, both Netero and Morel suddenly halted their movements and turned toward the entrance.
As the loud clashes of their Nen subsided, Melody also picked up on approaching footsteps, drawing closer.
Just as the group was wondering who it could be, the large doors creaked open, and a group of people entered.
Since Dwun had already returned to his post, it was List who led Germain and the others here.
However, after completing his task at the entrance, List quickly took his leave.
That meant the only ones entering the training hall were Germain, Shizuku, Knov, Knuckle, Shoot, and Abengane.
"Mr. Germain!"
The moment he saw the black-robed Hunter who had helped create the "Miracle Night" alongside him, Meleoron, the "Chameleon," quickly stepped forward with a smile.
As he spoke, he couldn't help but reveal his long, curled red tongue.
"You've been away from Greed Island for quite some time. Are you finally back?"
Ikalgo, Kurapika, and Melody followed a step behind but soon gathered with the rest.
Raising one of his red tentacles from his sleeve, Ikalgo looked on curiously.
"How did the mission go? Everything smooth? Huh? Where are Buhara and Sanbica?"
Ikalgo had a good impression of Buhara, the honest and cheerful big guy, and he also found the shy and reserved female doctor rather likable.
"But with Mr. Germain leading the mission, I'm sure everything went smoothly."
Meleoron squeezed to the front and chimed in. He always had a natural confidence in Germain.
That night had left such a deep impression on him, making him feel that Germain was capable of anything.
"The mission went smoothly," Germain said, speaking the truth. "But Buhara and Sanbica will stay behind to handle the aftermath."
Only those who knew the details understood what Germain meant by "stay behind" and "handle the aftermath."
"Sensei," Kurapika bowed slightly to Germain. "Welcome back."
"Mm." Germain nodded. "I heard you passed the Hunter Exam. Well done, keep up the good work."
When Kurapika saw Germain, many words welled up in his throat, wanting to say them right then and there.
But there were just too many people around, so in the end, he swallowed those words.
"Thank you."
He only said that one sentence, with the deeper gratitude hidden in his eyes.
Kurapika stepped aside, revealing a short and plump woman with a Mediterranean-style bald head.
"Germain-sensei, this is the 'Music Hunter' Melody I mentioned, who's been taking good care of me during this time."
Melody, with hamster-like buck teeth, waved her hands repeatedly, speaking in a gentle tone that was completely at odds with her appearance.
"Kurapika, you're exaggerating. I haven't 'taken care of you' all the time. We've just been working together, and you've helped me a lot too."
She then turned her gaze to Germain, eyeing him up and down.
"The 'Fastest One-Star Hunter' Germain. Kurapika has mentioned his teacher several times during the journey, and I've heard a bit about you from various rumors and news. Now that I see you in person, it's clear that your reputation is well deserved."
"You flatter me," Germain said. "Thank you. During this time, you've taken good care of Kurapika. I believe your experience as a professional Hunter has taught him a lot."
"Please, stay a bit longer on 'Greed Island,' so we can properly host you."
Melody tried to decline but eventually accepted the invitation with a gentle smile.
After Netero and Morel walked over, Germain naturally turned to face them.
Melody, however, looked at Germain's profile and quietly nodded.
Such a powerful and steady heartbeat. It even drowned out Netero and Morel's voices. Of all the people I've met, his presence is unparalleled...
Germain, this man, might become the symbol of our era's 'Nen users'... just like Netero was for the previous one.
No, he won't just be another "Netero." He may even surpass Netero himself...
At this moment, Morel strode over and laughed loudly, giving Germain a warm hug.
Sure enough, Morel and Knuckle, this master-apprentice pair, really are like a mold, the first action when meeting Germain again was a hug.
On the other hand, Morel's other apprentice—Shoot—seemed a bit too normal.
However, Morel had just finished his workout, his body was covered in sweat, and Germain found it a bit much. Fortunately, Morel quickly let go.
"We came as we promised, but we didn't expect you to not be here. But there are plenty of interesting things on 'Greed Island,' so we didn't feel bored while waiting for you."
Morel lifted his dark small glasses and winked at Germain.
When he mentioned "interesting things," of course, he was referring to matters concerning the 'Dark Continent.'
The recent "achievements" of Germain's team had left them utterly stunned.
"Later, your disciple Kurapika came to the island. I had Knuckle spar with him once, and his talent is impressive. You've got a good disciple," Morel adjusted his dark glasses, casually throwing a compliment at Germain.
Praising the disciple's excellence was the same as praising the teacher—he knew that much.
Chairman Netero was the last to step forward, as was his usual style.
After a brief exchange of pleasantries, he gave Germain a hearty slap on the back.
Then Netero grabbed Germain and walked out of the training room with him.
Everyone watched in surprise as they left, and then Morel stepped forward to smooth things over, chatting with everyone about a few topics.
After Netero and Germain had walked a little further, he finally spoke.
"Everything went smoothly this time, right? Any new 'results'?"
Germain nodded.
"A lot has happened recently. I'll give you all a brief summary after a while, and then I'll organize the details into documents."
"However, our biggest gain this time is a stack of scrolls left by Don Freecss. The problem is, we can't understand the text on them."
"Don Freecss?" Netero of course knew the author of 'Journey to the New World,' but hearing the name here still took him by surprise.
Germain took the stack of paper from his chest and handed it to Netero.
Netero took it, looking through it for a while, his brows furrowing.
As he kept looking, he began to feel something was off, until he reached the last page and saw the gruesome, claw-like blood-red drawings.
"Haha," Netero let out his signature laugh, stroking his chin, "this is interesting..."
"How about this, Germain. Tell me everything that's happened recently. Also, I've already figured out who we should send to decipher the writing on these."
