Chapter 19 : Perfect Day to Hellish Night

Haven’s POV

My hands are shaking. My hands are actually shaking. Why am I trembling? It is not cold. I am not afraid.

No.

I am excited. I am nervous. I am absolutely giddy with all of these emotions rolling around in my head, which naturally makes my heart flutter uncontrollably.

Cruz, a couple of days after the two of us had such a lovely, casual day together, reached out and asked if I would be interested in going to some of the more touristy spots all around New York City.

I have always known where all of the touristy spots were, living here and being a local, but I never really had the time or the funds to really support going and doing these things. Money always seemed to be better spent on other things like a better faucet that didn’t leak, clothes that would keep us warm when the heater undoubtedly would fail, and, most importantly, medicine and the ever-compiling hospital bills.
