Chapter Eight: Still Lost In Memory’s Lane

Jack and Leo

.

Three days after, now in a bar. Another day dawned in the same New Orleans city. This one wasn't a rainy day at all, infact, to Jack, it was a brighter day, which he spent with his friend. With his brother from the same pack.

Two wolves witnessed two other wolves, that were now in their full form, participate in a brawl. The other two wolves that weren't fighting, but sat as brothers, in their human form, busied theirselves with drinking bottles of hard liquor. They were at a secret bar for just werewolves.

They watched at the fighting wolves in anticipation of who would emerge the winner of the futile battle. It was like a live entertaining show for them.

The bar's owner, who was now angry that his place was being wrecked, shot a long gun as a warning for them to quit. They now stopped the fight, making the crowd exclaim out in annoyance and displeasure.

"And there goes the fun" A tousled blonde hair boy complained. "You know, I almost bet money on one of 'em"

He wore a black trench coat and a hat, sitting  next to Jack. It was Leo of the South-East pack in London.

"Why didn't you come earlier? I was so bored that I even got lost" Jack said to his werewolf friend.

Jack had travelled to this town, with his family, for a werewolf gathering, where many werewolves from different packs in the world would meet. It was a kind of an occasional meeting for werewolves, to celebrate the peace, ever since the Great Werewolf War of the ancient wolves.

Wolves knew there wasn't anything like total peace. There was still some kind of war between werewolves from different packs. It was all done for formality.

Well, at this celebration, that was where Jack had escaped from to go look for fun. He felt uncomfortable that his family, especially the Alpha, was in attendance, also keeping eyes on him. Jack felt suffocated, so he left. That was how he ended up getting lost that day.

"Sorry mate" Leo said, "I'm here now and will surely make it up to you. I know of a wolf's night club here in New Orleans. And I'll be sure to get us in the VIP zone."

Looking at each other, a smile hovered on their faces, as they both felt excitement dance in them. Wild party wolves. Those words explained Leo and Jack.

After finishing their whiskey, they stopped by at the Loggmans abode in the city.

Although Leo had a similar bad wolf behaviour to Jack, but he often put on a hard-working, good-wolf obedient disguise in front of his parents. He was actually adopted from young, after being turned. He wasn't a born werewolf breed.

This was a different story entirely. Perhaps for another day?

"Bonkers! Mate," Leo said as he found something. He played with the item he had found in Jack's room. He tossed it in the air and caught it back, repeatedly. "Pink"

He couldn't help laughing there.

As he threw it up for the final time, he missed the catch and it landed on the ground.

"Be careful with that Leo" Jack said as he rushed to pick the umbrella looking all concerned.

Leo gave a surprised look and made a sound that showed so.

"Seeing the way you run just for that, makes it seem like something real special"

Leo then walked to Jack's wardrobe to look for nice clothes for the party. They were going to look their best tonight at the night club, and planned to steal the attention from the other wolves in the city.

As Jack held the umbrella in his hands, his mind suddenly flashed back to the other day. He remembered the incident that had occured under the rain, and it was now like a sitcome serie in his head. He laughed at this thought. He didn't even know why he still had the umbrella with him. He decided to keep it at someplace, since he couldn't return it.

As he was about keeping it, he noticed a symbol on the umbrella. A logo. He took a closer look and saw 'The Monami Bootique' written on it.

Still looking at it, he thought,"Where could the place be?"

He heard himself ask out, "You know a Monami tailoring shop in town?"

He wasn't really sure why he had asked though.

Leo, who was now wearing a long scarf and a white shirt, with some of the upper bottom opened, said, "What the hell is that? And why would you want to-"

Now thinking of an idea, Leo said, " Oh, smart. New clothes for the New Orleans. We have to be in the best clothes for the night club. We can tell the Chauffeur to take us there. He'll know for sure."

Jack, who certainly was not thinking of that when he first asked, and the idea wasn't what he had in mind, just went with the flow.

Leo sang, now doing a little dance that made him look like he was drunk, "Where ever it may be, there's no partying without these bad wolves".

Jack's eyes opened wide as they were now parked in front of the place. Just in a blink of an eye. It was like magic, and that all he had to do was say the word and the wish was going to come true. At the Monami Tailoring Shop, they were.

He was starting to rethink the whole thing.

Jack asked in his head. He asked why they were here when they had tons of expensive clothes? Costly classy suits and good looks that would make them look charming in anything?

They looked at the place and saw it was not that bad, but also not the expected.

Leo gave a weird look at the place, then shrugged before going in, with Jack following at his back.

The bell at the top of the door rang as these men made their way inside.

A woman dressed long flowing skirt, and a blue bouffant blouse, came welcoming them. She smiled amiably as she curtsied.

Jack's mind wasn't here now. His mate went ahead to test a couple of fine suits that fit him perfectly. It made his masculine figure visible, and obviously, suits fit this British boy.

In front of the mirror, Leo stood, dressing his blonde hair. He had taken off the suit and had only the shirt and wasit coat on.

Leo asked Jack, who seemed like he was day dreaming, "Aren't you gonna try anything mate? These are actually comfortable and fine fitting".

"It's cause it's you wearing them." Jack said, making Leo feel a bit full of himself, as he praised.

They were now done, and had their clothes were packaged properly for them.

Before leaving completely through the door, Jack heard himself ask a question. The question reflected where his mind had really been all these while, "Have a bright hair coloured Lady happen to come  by here at any chance?"

This made Leo wonder with a surprise look on his face. He wondered whom his mate was referring to. The woman that had welcomed them, didn't grasp.

He went further asking, hoping she'd have any clue "Orange hair? Does someone similar to that description work here? She left me with an umbrella with your shop's prints on it."

A black boy, who was

present at the place, now recognized Jack as the boy his friend was sharing an umbrella with yesterday, when he came to pick her up.

"You must mean Lyya" Daniel said, "She doesn't work here anymore. A slight incident occurred yesterday".

"Lyya" Jack called her name mumbling, as he now knew the lady's name.
