Chapter 16:

Milville.

The awful, awful thought.

Still in tauma of what had transpied that day, Lyya couldn't help but shiver as she had thought it was a dream. Although Lyya knew herself that it felt so real and even left a mark; literally. Flashes of the grisly scene caused her to have this uncertain state of mind.

Just maybe, maybe it was just a scary fictional film show she had watched. Even if it was the case, it felt as though it was real. It was real.

The mental pain seemed to be working real hard on her, and she hadn't even started giving attention to her injured neck.

Tilting her neck with a palm on it, she tried suppressing the pain, but it all ended in futility.

She had tried so much to convince herself that she was going to get better, but the obvious situation clearly proved her wrong.

It may seem crazy, it was, but she felt like giving out a hysterical laughter as everything to her felt so surreal.

"Wake me up when it's over," She said to no one in particular, as she tried so hard to still accept it as a dream. A really bad dream.

How many horrible things could happen in someone's life during such short time?

Was it revenge for some kind of unidentified cause?

Nodding her head in disbelief, and crying so hard that she could feel a lump in her throat, she repeatedly said the same word,

"No, no no."

She hard tried everything in her power to stiffle her cry, but the damned tears just felt so much joy in being obvious.

Crying, weeping and shedding tears. All these were the simple words that could describe her appearance, but it certainly didn't entirely explain how she felt inside.

Could one feel so many emotions at once?

Placing her two palms at the sides of her head, she tried managing her unstable mind.

"You're kidding me," She said now in obvious denial, "Right? This- this is some kind of show you're pulling off…?"

She couldn't go on talking again as she saw Charles all serious expression.

She didn't really know so much about him, but with that look on his face and his demeanour, Lyya knew he wasn't the kind of person that would waste his time on games.

With an even higher tone, she burst into a levelled up degree of tears. She hadn't even known before now that a human could even produce such amount liquid from one's eyes.

Still broken, and of course crying, Lyya suddenly felt the comforting hands of a man wrap around her in a warm embrace.

Comfort, it was. Although she still had the unimaginable words of Beta Charles ring in her head, but this felt like some kind of temporal solution.

In this friendly cage, she felt her tears make a sudden halt like some commanded military personnel, and her heart flurtterd with butterflies of pretty colours. It felt as though she had travelled to this safer place that had a cheerful ambience.

Lyya felt something strangely affectionate about this hug. Large hands held her small back and all she could think of was, 'Never let go'.

The soft enjoyable feel of the person's face rubbing against the side of her face made her want to purr like the pet she now felt like.

Her heart skipped a little weirdly and she could feel the person's breath rub the back of her neck.

It was as if the pain from her wound had now eased a little, and a new pain had found its way to another part of her body; her heart. It wasn't a harsh pain if you may say. It was a pleasurable pain she felt from her heart pounding. It was beating because of the happy, nervous, and surprised feeling she now had bubbling inside of her, all because of this ordinary contact.

Being too comfortable and in love with this touch, she almost found herself returning the embrace.

Now almost touching the person's warm sensational back, Lyya's lost senses made a quick flight back.

She suddenly realized what was really happening. Something that wasn't meant to be. She immediately pulled herself from the hug and tried her best not to show how much she had enjoyed it, and also how much it had helped her. She slowly detached his wrapped around manly arms from her small body.

Though it was just a hug, but the way it was given, made her feel like it would have led to something even more.

If that hug had lasted another minute, she swear she would have completely lost all control. It was something tempting that she knew she had to resist.

Not just the hug, but the person that had given it.

"Please, don't do this to me," She begged so much inside of her.

She was the one that had officially called it off between her and Jack, so it was only right for her to form a distance. An unwanted distance.

It was hard to accept that someone who you thought and had already agreed to marry, now, is this loving enemy you must drift from. An enemy because he failed to be on your side. An enemy because he failed to keep his promises. An enemy because he lied about being loving this time.

"I'm sorry." Jack said to her as he had now let her out from the sweet hug.

She hadn't noticed yet, but her loud wailing seemed to have stopped now, although her crying face still stuck.

"When were you going to tell me this?"

She inquired from soft looking Jack.

He didn't go ahead and quickly answer the question. He tried his best to sound reasonable.

"At the reveal and ritual" He said, living her lost in this complicated clueless land of nothing.

The reveal and ritual?

What the hell was that?

She would have gone further to ask but  she didn't see the point in it.

They were done and had nothing to do with each other anymore. So she thought.

It wasn't important to her anymore. It seemed to her that she now had a bigger case on her plate.

What they had was like a flower taking its time to grow under both nice and unfriendly weathers. It finally managed to bloom, but fell a victim to misfortune as it now withered suddenly like it never even existed. The sun shining and slowly becoming brighter every hour but then darkened as the moon showed up, but this sun never came back up. Just plain darkness.

Charles now said with his ever bold but calmed tone that reflected his personality, "You'll be joining in after all. And your wound will need something more than regular human meds"

"The moon rose" Jack said completing Charles point. He also appeared like there was something bigger attached to it.

Charles spoke now ready to go as he  had finished draining all the terrible, terrible story he had wanted to hear from her, "I'll be off now,"

He said referring to Jack, "Hey,"

He didn't speak after that but gave a sign that Jack understood he meant for him to take care her. He gave a glance at bewildered Lyya then back at him. He was going to take care of the yet to be wolf.

No one needed to be told that Charles was off to go give an immediate feedback to the Alpha. He was going to say the story exactly as it was told right here and by whom had said it.

The door closed, leaving the two in the place.

Lyya faced the other side lying down and said to Jack with a rude yet sounding nice voice, "Please leave"

Those words were unexpected yet expected. Jack thought she'd say that but wasn't real certain she would. It had an affect on him, and not  a nice one. As much as he thought it was best he stayed, he still had to follow the angel's voice as she knew what she wanted.

Going out of the unit, Jack gave a last look at the lady that only showed her back as she had now faced the other way.

His face said worried, and her face said something similar, but he couldn't see it since she had decided not to even spare him a look.

He opened the door and Leo, clad in his black shirt was revealed. Jack just walked past Leo like he wasn't even there.

Leo understood and didn't even bother to be annoying as he normally would.

He had left now and Leo stayed resting his back on the door frame.

Lyya had thought she would hear the door close but didn't. She immediately turned as she was about letting out her angry voice,

"I thought I said you should-" She then saw it was not whom she had thought. " Oh,"

Leo, with hands in his pockets, said going inside, "Waky waky sleeping beauty,"

She complained sounding stressed, "Oh no Leo please"

"No actually. I'm just just here to talk to my fellow wolf," He said the last part smiling and doing a little shoulder dance.

Stunned, Lyya raised her upper body shifting back in fright. She didn't know Leo was also a wolf. She suddenly started to feel like she had lived her whole life sourounded by unknown creatures and would have even gotten married to one.

She certainly did not know that he was a werewolf too.

Was everyone a werewolf around her?

Leo, noticing this, decided to take it as fun and play with it.

Like a scary dinosaur, he opened his mouth, with palms stretched out. He approached scared Lyya.

"I'm a monster," He went closer to her, who had now stood up. He imitated a groaning monster, "Aaaah"

It frightened her more, even if it was just a silly play to him. Leo stopped what he was doing and gave out a hysterical laughter. He was laughing at perplexed Lyya.

Trying to stiffle his laugh, he said now, "It's okay Lyya. I don't bite. Well...l do, but not a fine bird like you"

She still stood, looking at him with a scared-angry look.

A more serious atmosphere now hovered as he now spoke. He didn't laugh again as he said, " It's gonna be fine Lyya. It's not that bad. I've been here before and know it,"

This unconsciously calmed Lyya down a little, but still left her perplexed.

With a lowered voice that sounded as if he was trying to hide some sort of emotion behind that smile of his, Leo spoke, "You see, I wasn't born a werewolf, but I had help going through my transition,"

Now, just looking and sounding all compassionate, he said, "Let him help you Lyya. You need him now more than ever".
