Chapter 20:

Jack, stayed outside waiting for Lady Lyya to finally come out from the ward. It had finally been approved by the doctor for her to go home and take a proper rest home.

He knew he had been told several times before now, by the nurses, to go home as the visiting time had elapsed. But it wasn't something ordinary that drove him.

He had stayed for hours at the hospital, just to see and spend time watching her, though she had continuously told him to go away, but he just didn't listen.

In the private hospital room at Milville, Mrs Daise turned on the TV and it suddenly started playing the music video of Wasting My Love On You(1930) By Lee Morse.

She wanted to change the mood, but the slow song coincidentally matched the sad-broken feeling both Lyya and Jack felt at the moment.

Lyya was being taken care of by her mother, Mrs Daise, who had finally come to stay to keep her company. She hadn't been able to stay in the hospital permanently with Lyya as she too had been preoccupied with work. She had to work for the small businesses she had going on. She felt sorry for not even being there with her daughter when she finally woke up. She tried consoling Lyya as she literally was like broken glass.

Feeling it was strange, Mrs Daise asked her daughter why she decided to go the woods by that time and alone, but Lyya just replied with a simple, " I can't remember, I don't know, or nothing mother,"

She had been told to keep shut of that day. She wasn't allowed to tell anyone, not even her own caring mother. This was one of the secrets she had to keep for as long as only God knows when.

Now packing their belongings they brought to the hospital, Lyya just stayed, lying down on top of the white small bed, filled with so much sorrow.

It was Mrs Daise that was packing the things.

Mrs Daise looked at her daughter and couldn't help but feel bitter. She thought she was only just sad about the break up, but little did she know that her daughter was soon going to turn into something she didn't really know existed. She was going to turn into a werewolf.

"That's enough sadness and drama," Mrs Daise said as she went to turn off the t.v.

Lyya quickly reacted to this. She stood up to go turn back on the big box t.v. For some reason, she wanted to still hear the song. Her sad puppy face stuck as she listened to it.

Mrs Daise sighed as she couldn't do anything about it.

"We should get going home then," She said, all packed up and ready.

Lyya wore a light cream coloured dress, and a Burberry jacket, with short gloves.

She now managed to haul herself from bed, and had the nurse come to take a last proper check-up on her.

"Now you be careful with that," The fine nurse said as she inserted a cannula inside her back palm. She was clad in a white long pinafore gown, short sleeved white shirt, flats and a small white nurse's cap. "Mrs Lyya, the doctor says you can now go home. Ensure you take your vitamins and meds, take a lot of rest, and also try avoid strenuous activities,"

Lyya's face winced as the nurse placed the thing in her hand. With a smile on, the nurse said, "You may now go home. Hope you were satisfied with our services here at Milville? We wish you the quickest recovery ma'am,"

The nurse now headed to the door after writing down some analysis of the patient's state.

As she opened the door, she got a bit startled.

"Oh my," The nurse said, holding her chest a little. She had seen a person who already stood at the front of the door waiting for the door to be opened.

She quickly went ahead through the door, ignoring the male.

Furious of whom she had seen, Lyya swiftly shifted her eyes away from the person who happened to be Jack, who had flowers in his hands.

She went closer to her mother to hold her arm. Her mother raised up her chin, shifting her head forward, and with a puff of air out her nose, she walked away with Lyya. They made it obvious that they were snubbing him.

As the two passed the door, Jack stretched out a hand reaching for Lyya's arm, hoping he could talk to her for even a minute, but Lyya just dodged it, shifting away from him. It made Jack feel a sudden sharp pain in his chest as it felt so surreal.

She looked forward as she went in that direction. Jack's hand still remained frozen in that motion, still hanging in the air, as he found it hurting.

The t.v was left on and the slow song kept on playing, now as if louder. He watched his love walk away and it felt like she was actually walking away from him for good.

Tragedy was something Jack feared the most in his life. He feared it so much that it became his worst enemy.

Should he just pretend like they never had anything for each other in the past?

He would have left and not bother her again, but it's obvious that Jack over here wasn't ready to just let go. Even inside himself, he knew it was all his fault everything had ended. Though she had called it off orally, he was the first to do that with actions; regretful actions.

Till this day, Jack still found strange that he couldn't even remember what exactly had happened between him and Clarrissa that night.

They had made love to each other several times, yes. But that was all in the past. He remembered that she had come begging him some months ago. They talked and she was all over him in her usual seductive style. Jack would have sworn that he had tried so much to resist her that night, but after everything, they still ended up having a couple of drinks together, and as usual, he woke up the next morning not really remembering everything in particular, as he had gotten so drunk that night.

Jack now walked to where Lyya and her mother were headed. They were going to collect their meds from the pharmacy, then later made their way outside Milville.

He kept on walking and walking, and soon, he discovered he was actually following them. Realizing that, he quickly tried to not show that he was behind them, as it would have been weird. He felt they'd probably think he was stalking; which he was. Well, unintentionally.

"What the hell am I doing?" Jack asked himself thinking he was doing something strange and unlikely him. He scratched his head, like it was supposed to fix his brain or something, dishevelling his brown hair.

He saw them stop by the bus station and thought of taking the bus with them. Though, he didn't really have a place in mind to go.

Jack now thought he was starting to go nuts, and maybe he was turning into a stalker. "What's bloody fuck is wrong with me?"

He asked himself again.

Jack knew that him and Lyya couldn't continue to go on like this, and she was definitely going to have to come to him eventually, as she soon would be joining his world. All he wanted to do was comfort her knowing she was going through hard times.

The bus door was almost closing before Jack quickly caught up with it and entered. Lyya had already gotten on it with her Ma and taken a seat.

As he entered the bus, which he usually didn't, he could instantly notice all eyes stare at him and people began to talk. He was Jack Loggman after all, and he was in their presence. Giggles and mumbling voices spread throughout the place, calling his name Jack.

He didn't feel a tad weird about it, as he was so used to all of it, and he had experienced things like this for as long as he could remember.

Lyya noticed Jack Loggman inside the regular bus. She didn't understand him. She thought if he truly loved her in the first place, then he would have tried so much to be with her and not someone else.

She tried not to look at him, resting her head against the window glass. He looked at her but she didn't return the gaze, though she was aware he was staring at her, and could also slightly see his reflection through the glass.

Jack now went ahead to sit at a place, not too far from her.

Her mind wandered to what the future was going to look like.

"Was he going to really going to get married to that girl and move on?" Lyya asked mentally as she couldn't help but also feel strange in her heart. She gulped down tears down her throat. "Then if so, he should move on quickly".

Still staring at his reflection, she suddenly noticed a trickle of rain stream down the window glass as it was now raining. She looked deeper into to the glass, outside the window, as she tried seeing if it was true.

A picture of the past suddenly displayed right before her eyes. The rainy day that had brought them together in the first place, now rained again, but this time, it rained at a different time and place, and at a different moment.

Though the rain wasn't as heavy as that special day, it still reminded her of it. Thinking of this, she didn't know when she turned her neck to face Jack, and her eyes accidentally locked with his.

The bus finally made a stop, and people started coming down. Lyya tried disconnecting from this gaze as it now made it possible for him to see right through her. She stood up from her seat, though she hadn't gotten to her destination, she left anyway.

Mrs Daise looked at her perplexed, as she passed her front, watching her daughter rush away in tears. Mrs Daise was also forced to come down from the bus and go under the drizzling rain.

As Lyya cried so much, Jack couldn't help but feel sad about being the cause.

Him too rushed down, and went to meet her.

She started running to where she didn't know under the rain, and Mrs Daise couldn't catch up with her as she was fast. Jack on the on the other hand, ran so fast that it showed his desperation.

"Go away Jack!" She yelled as she ran, still crying. "I don't want to see you,"

She was running but suddenly stopped as she felt unsteady. The throbbing pain she had continuously felt due to the wound, had come again.

Jack didn't know what was happening, seeing her just stop running all of a sudden.

She looked at him with giddy eyes, and swayed, about to fall to the ground.

Now, she was about touching the ground but she suddenly felt large arms wrap around her fragile body, preventing her from falling.

In that motion, Lyya now had her pretty brown eyes open wide, staring at her handsome saviour. Her heart thumped loudly as she felt like it was going to jump out.

She didn't feel like fainting anymore. She now felt an unexplainable source of energy surge through her.

Still in falling and catching motion, Lyya's eyes gazed at Jack, who was now soaked wet under the rain, and had rain dripping from his tousled hair and from his drop damn gorgeous face.
