Medical Books

"Yes," Murong Yu replied and nodded.

"Sister, why did you ask Li Mu to start a shop? If uncle and aunt find out, they'll definitely break his legs," said Murong Jin.

"We'll surely make a fortune from this shop," Murong Yu said. She didn't want her brother idly running around; it would be better if he had something to do. "If you're willing, you can help run errands for the shop. I'll give you 10% of the profits."

Murong Jin looked at his sister and chuckled. He said, "Sister, when did you become so stingy? Just 10%? That won't even cover a meal for me."

"Whether it's 10% or not, you'll still be running errands for me," Murong Yu replied calmly.

Seeing his sister's proud demeanor, Murong Jin grinned and said, "Alright, alright. 10% it is, it's better than nothing!"

"To earn that 10%, it won't be easy; you'll have to invest some money too," Murong Yu sipped her floral tea and said.

"Sister, now you're really exploiting me," Murong Jin poured himself a cup and laughed. "You're asking me for labor and money for a mere 10%?"

Murong Yu glanced at Murong Jin and said, "You're out of money, aren't you?"

"I am a bit strapped for cash," Murong Jin said as he scratched his head, looking a bit embarrassed.

"I remember you still have some outstanding debts to collect," Murong Yu remarked.

"One friend owes me 500 taels of silver, another owes me 600 taels of silver, and another one owes me 400 taels of silver, one owes me the most, 800 taels of silver!" Murong Jin began counting on his fingers.

"Go collect it. The sum of 2,300 should be enough for you to buy a share in the shop," Murong Yu advised.

"I was waiting for them to pay me back..."

Before Murong Jin could finish, Murong Yu's stern gaze silenced him.

Murong Yu interrupted, "Go collect it now. Every single cent!"

When their family fell from grace in the previous life, none of these people treated Murong Jin with respect. They were all scoundrels. They all had to pay back what they owed.

"I'm going, I'm going. Sister, stop looking at me like that," Murong Jin hurriedly said, before darting off to collect the debts.

Aman let out a sigh of relief and said, "I was choking inside when I heard Master Jin call Huo Yuan like they were close."

Murong Yu chuckled and continued reading her medical book.

Aman approached, amazed, and said, "My lady, where did you get this medical book? Can you understand it?"

"Amei found it for me, it's alright," Murong Yu replied.

"You truly are my lady; there's nothing you can't do!" Aman said as she gave Murong Yu a thumbs-up.

Murong Yu's expression turned a bit sentimental upon hearing that. In this life, she had never really studied medicine; it was something she learned in her past life.

In this life, Murong Yu learned music, chess, calligraphy, painting, embroidery, flower arrangement, and household management. But in this chaotic world, those skills were of little use.

Initially, when Murong Yu was sent to Ji Chengxuan's manor, she didn't even know how to serve him. Despite having gone through a marriage, she was still a virgin when she arrived at Ji Chengxuan's manor. Ji Chengxuan was surprised, and then elation, upon discovering that she was still a virgin, was extremely palpable.

Ji Chengxuan held Murong Yu tightly, cherishing her like a rare gem, as if he was holding something extremely precious. But back then, all Murong Yu felt was fear. Because Ji Chengxuan possessed a weapon that could very well be deadly!

Murong Yu couldn't handle it and cried from beginning to end. Perhaps Ji Chengxuan found her lacking in skills, so he even brought in a madam to teach her the ways to serve him at night.

That had made Murong Yu utterly humiliated and furious. She wanted to end it all, but she couldn't. She couldn't imagine what would happen to her family if she died.
