The Parasite

When it comes to the heartbreaking aspect, Wan truly appears to be the epitome of sorrow, evoking sympathy from anyone who witnesses her plight. However, the reality is far from that.

Wan had set her sights on Chen Hong's family—a family of four that seemed to be flourishing within the manor. Chen Hong's mother served by the side of Madam Murong, his father managed an outside estate, his sister worked in Murong Yu's courtyard, and he assisted in the kitchen, a job with its own perks. How else could Wan have become so plump and well-fed? And so, Wan deliberately seduced Chen Hong.

As for Chen Hong, he was of the mindset that a meal delivered to your doorstep should not be wasted. Half a year ago, Wan invited him over for tea, and with her coy encouragement, they crossed the line. Their relationship continued from there.

Wan did indeed hope that carrying Chen Hong's child would elevate her status, but Chen Hong had no intentions of marrying her.

The other details might be false, but what's true is that Wan had two abortions for Chen Hong. He was only interested in enjoying himself at her expense.

As the saying goes, in times of trouble, every man for himself. After all, they weren't even married and Chen Hong had never planned on taking Wan as his wife. Now, with Murong Yu eyeing Chen Hong's family, Wan didn't want to be implicated.

Aman returned and relayed the story once more, quietly adding, "I've also inquired with others; Wan wasn't coerced. She has been fond of Chen Hong for a long time."

Murong Yu responded, "She is quite perceptive."

Wan had grasped Murong Yu's intentions and had handed over the perfect leverage. Murong Yu wouldn't be courteous either.

Last time, when Ari and Qiao'er's brother messed up, she handled it discreetly because Ari was part of Murong Yu's courtyard. But not this time. Moreover, Murong Yu planned to dispose of Nanny Fang and her family entirely without showing them any grace.

And so, Murong Yu decided to make an example of them.

Chen Hong was tightly bound, gagged, and could only glare murderously as Wan tearfully recounted how she had been violated by him half a year ago and had subsequently lost two children due to abortions.

"I never expected such an incident to occur within my home!" Murong Yu said, her face stern.

"My lady, I really never thought that we'd have such a disobedient servant in our residence!" Nanny Xu, who had always been at odds with Nanny Fang, was quick to jump on the bandwagon.

Nanny Fang wasn't well-liked in the manor. When one person stood up against her, others followed suit. In no time, everyone was condemning her.

Even the allegations of Nanny Fang's husband, Mr. Chen, embezzling funds from the outside estate he managed, came to light.

"Such a thing has happened?" Murong Yu asked as she squinted her eyes.

"My lady, you can have people thoroughly investigate. If anything I say is untrue, I'm willing to accept any punishment," declared Nanny Xu's husband, Mr. Hu.

"I had thought to preserve some grace for Nanny Fang, who has served my mother for so many years. Although Ari and Chen Hong erred, I didn't think it should implicate Nanny Fang and Mr. Chen. But I'm deeply disappointed..." Murong Yu sighed, "They've let me down terribly."

"My lady is merciful, but how can we overlook something like this?" Nanny Xu, barely containing her excitement, began to kick them while they were down. "If we let them off this time, won't it set a terrible example? They've truly squandered the kindness of the House of Murong. If not for us, where would they be today? Yet they repay our kindness this way? They're nothing but parasites within the manor!"
