Chapter 184 : Lucifer!

"This scene is quite bizarre!"

Within the dimly lit church, a disheveled man, appearing almost like a vagabond, wore a peculiar grin as he knelt before a nun, beseeching her to grant him an audience with Satan.

"It feels wicked and irreverent towards God!"

Yet, the nun refrained from reacting with hostility.

"Even Jesus, enduring agony upon the cross, refrained from delivering God's retribution!"

Within the chapel, Constantine interjected with an additional remark.

"By the way, I'm not referring to the First Fallen. He catches sight of me and likely calculates that he'll have my soul enslaved for ten thousand years!"

In a corner, Gabriel refrained from scolding Constantine for his interruption. Instead, he widened his golden pupils and fixed a cold gaze upon him before inquiring sharply,

"What are your intentions toward him?"

Constantine rubbed his hands together, a sly grin adorning his face.

"It's hard to articulate. The world is perilous now; perhaps I aspire to become a devil under his command."

Gabriel remained impassive but suddenly questioned,

"What about the last time you deceived me?"

Constantine displayed no trace of embarrassment or remorse, maintaining his smile as he replied,

"Lord Archangel, I solemnly swear on my soul that involving you in the demon war was entirely unintentional. Besides, isn't it to your advantage?

"Behold, what a splendid physique!"

With a flourish, Constantine gestured towards himself.

Gabriel's eyes sparkled with derision as he sneered,

"Constantine, your shamelessness knows no bounds. You have the audacity to swear when I'm aware that your soul has already been claimed by the digital grand demons!"

"A pitiful wretch, condemned to neither heaven nor hell!"

Unperturbed, Constantine nonchalantly lit another cigarette, inhaling deeply before remarking,

"Well, dear angel, do you have any tasks for me this time?"

There was no spilling of blood this time, and the other party refused to divulge Satan's whereabouts to him!

This fueled his frustration, leading him to attempt communication with Lucifer through his soul, only to discover that Lucifer was absent from hell!

Nearly falling into the clutches of a formidable demon as a consequence!

On the opposite end, Constantine caught sight of Gabriel and received a nod, signaling his attention.

"I need you to infiltrate the Lantern Corps; someone there is hatching a plot more sinister than Darkseid's," Gabriel implored.

Curiosity piqued, Constantine inquired, "Are you suggesting that Sinestro Corps is scheming an invasion of Earth?"

Gabriel's expression darkened as he softly replied, "It's not the Sinestro Corps; it's a colossal creature, Anti_Monitor."

Constantine's demeanor shifted at this revelation, his eyes betraying disbelief. "That entity exists within this universe!?"

Gabriel fixed Constantine with a cold stare. "This universe holds depths far beyond your imagination," he retorted.

Taking a deep breath to steady himself, Constantine reassured, "No problem, I'll take care of it. But first, I must visit Lucifer; I need to find him urgently."

Gabriel held Constantine's unwavering gaze for a moment before disclosing, "He's in Universe 666."

With that, a cosmic overlay materialized in the void, highlighting Universe 666 in a distinctive golden hue.

A smile graced Constantine's face as he bid Gabriel farewell and departed.

Emerging from a magical doorway, Constantine found himself in Universe 666, accompanied by a companion who regarded him with a furrowed brow.

Meanwhile, in the depths of DC's Hell, God's laughter echoed suddenly. "Constantine from the video universe seeks an audience with you, Morningstar. Do you wish to entertain him?"

Lucifer sighed resignedly. "I owe Constantine several debts; he's likely to come to collect. I'll meet with him."

With those words, Lucifer transformed into a shadow and vanished, making his way to the backdoor of the Morningstar Bar.

Constantine rapped on the door, and in the blink of an eye, a tall, handsome man emerged, flanked by two girls.

"Always a pleasure to see you, Lucifer!"

Constantine chuckled. "It's time."

Lucifer Morningstar understood the implication; it was time to settle the debt. He gestured for the two girls to depart, then fixed his gaze on the figure behind Constantine.

"Well, this is unexpected!" Lucifer exclaimed, before adopting a warm smile. "We weren't meant to cross paths. Hello, I'm Lucifer Morningstar."

The man seemed taken aback, a realization dawning on him. "Lucifer Morningstar..."

"Yes, as in the Satan of the Bible," Lucifer confirmed, his smile unwavering.

The man appeared incredulous, casting a questioning glance at Constantine.

Constantine shrugged. "Bruce, don't act so surprised. You've encountered aliens and sorcerers; encountering Satan should hardly faze you now!"

Bruce took a deep breath, fighting back a torrent of curses. This was anything but normal!

Regret gnawed at him for accompanying Constantine. Initially, he'd sought assistance from someone formidable, but he hadn't anticipated encountering the Lord of Hell.

Yet, resigned to his circumstances, he pressed on, voicing his intentions:

"I need to know... if Superman's immunity to Kryptonite isn't a concern, what else can affect him?"

Indeed, during their recent meeting, Clark had divulged that basking in sunlight only enhanced his abilities. Not only had his powers intensified, but he'd also become impervious to Kryptonite.

After the video initiation, though Bruce wasn't as easily deceived as before, he still harbored suspicions!

He sought a method to counteract Superman, Flash, and others if they were to turn dark!

In this realm, he wouldn't place full trust in anyone but himself!

Lucifer glanced at Constantine, who nodded in agreement, prompting Lucifer to say:

"There indeed exists a weakness—Kryptonian fears the light of the red sun and magical assaults!"

"Here's a free hint: the power of the six gods also qualifies as magic. Look for a lad named Billy Batson!"

With that said, Lucifer turned to Constantine and remarked:

"Our debts are settled, John!"

Constantine, unwilling to linger with this lord of hell, nodded and departed with Bruce immediately!

Reasons abound: the other party posed great danger, and Satan never engages in unprofitable deals!

Moreover, Lucifer was a double-crosser, making him even more perilous!

At the bar's entrance, Lucifer watched Bruce's retreating figure with a smirk playing at the corners of his mouth, and uttered:

"Ahem, poor little bat!"

"Constantine never makes unprofitable deals. I hope you won't end up in dire straits!"
