After the initial shock, confusion set in.
Asgard!
Thor searched for something special, but his confusion only grew. "Why do I feel like he's just an ordinary person?" he wondered aloud.
Even in the earlier scene, when Odin, who was near death, appeared as a frail old man, his extraordinary nature could still be discerned upon closer inspection.
However, the man before Thor seemed completely ordinary, and even more perplexing, he appeared to be a human from Earth!
But this is the end of time—how could an ordinary person survive here? Not even as a servant of the mysterious figure behind the scenes.
At this moment, Loki speculated, "Perhaps his power is beyond our comprehension, and he has completely masked his aura?"
Loki glanced at Odin, seeking confirmation of his theory.
Odin shook his head in response. His left eye, capable of seeing through reality, revealed that this man was indeed ordinary, devoid of any power.
This was truly baffling.
[In the scene, Loki and Sylvie drew their weapons, eyeing the man who had suddenly appeared before them with apprehension.]
["Are you the He Who Remains?" Sylvie asked nervously.]
[The man chuckled. "Does she still call me that? It's such an old name."]
[He admitted without hesitation that he was the true master of the Time Variance Authority.]
[Just when Loki and Sylvie braced themselves for a fight, the man waved amicably and invited them,]
["Come, both of you. Let's go to my office and chat."]
(...)
[In the elevator, the man stood with his back to Loki and Sylvie, eating an apple, completely at ease.]
["Why, is it different from what you imagined?" the man asked casually, as if chatting with friends.]
[Looking at the man in front of him, Loki couldn't hold back his curiosity any longer,]
["Are you... an ordinary person?"]
["An ordinary person with flesh and blood," the man replied nonchalantly, picking his nose.]
[Receiving this answer only deepened Loki's confusion.]
"The mastermind behind all this is just an ordinary person? That's so illogical!"
The dark figure chuckled suddenly. "Oh? Are you disappointed?"
Loki almost nodded in agreement, but Sylvie's expression turned fierce.
"No, it's easier to kill you this way!"
With resolve, Sylvie swiftly swung her knife from behind without hesitation. Every eye in the room widened, captivated by the unfolding drama.
Sylvie's strike was swift and precise; if the figure were ordinary, he would have been done for. But in the blink of an eye...
Just as the blade was about to strike, the figure vanished, reappearing casually on the elevator's sofa. Sylvie didn't hesitate; she swung again, but the figure evaded effortlessly, disappearing completely this time!
On the Dwarf Star, Tony Stark suddenly stood up, fixated on the screen.
"This isn't magic—it's the same temporal technology as the time collar used on prisoners! But how is he manipulating it without any visible device?"
The figure appeared behind Sylvie without a hint of movement or preparation, gazing directly at her. If he claimed to be ordinary, how did he predict Sylvie's every move with such precision?
Tony's mind raced with unanswered questions, leaving him bewildered and unable to comprehend. He shouted in frustration, unable to continue contemplating.
In the elevator, Loki and Sylvie scanned their surroundings in terror, wary of another surprise attack.
"This ability to elude us is terrifying. If he were serious, we might not stand a chance!"
At that moment, the elevator abruptly halted and the doors slid open.
"Outside stood a smiling black man, gesturing for them to follow. 'We've arrived. Come with me.'"
With those words, the black man briskly led the way inside. The two followed and discovered themselves in a vast circular study.
"The walls were lined with curved bookshelves overflowing with books, and a crackling fireplace illuminated the room."
The two approached cautiously, but the black man paid no mind, pouring two cups of tea and gesturing for them to sit.
"Loki and Sylvie exchanged glances, then nodded and seated themselves."
Seeing them settled, the black man sat back with a satisfied smile, looking at Sylvie as if assessing a film.
"It's been quite the journey for you, hiding in Void, enduring hardships," he remarked.
Turning to Loki, he smiled, "And you, a flea on the dragon's back, a hitchhiker of sorts. Fortunately, not quite used up yet."
Loki, growing impatient, disliked the way the black man scrutinized him.
"It was as if he regarded Loki as a pet," Loki thought irritably.
Brandishing the flaming magic sword, Loki threatened, "Do you understand your position now? You've lost."
Thor, with an odd expression, patted Loki on the shoulder.
"Really, Loki? That was a rather embarrassing thing to say. Looks like you're in a bit of a bind."
Loki flushed. "I can't lose face."
"A convenient excuse," the black man remarked, his forehead furrowing in disbelief, unsure how Loki had suddenly shifted the situation.
Loki continued, almost to himself, "Because we found you."
This unexpected logic left everyone stunned.
Tony Stark slapped his thigh in astonishment. "That's a strategy."
"I'll use that next time I confront Thanos!" exclaimed the Dwarf King, impressed by Loki's cunning.
Where is this shameless? It's just very shameless!
