27. Sense Organ Refinement

When the wolf and cat finished their fight, it was clear that they were on the same level. None could defeat the other. The wolf was shocked by his but that was nothing compared to the cat's shock. It could sense that the wolf's cultivation was just the sixth stage of the mortal realm, but surely this was not possible since the wolf was a demonic beast, not a human. How could a demonic beast be on the human path of cultivation? To make matters more bizarre, the qi in the wolf's body was world qi, not origin qi.

The cat pondered for a moment before releasing the tension in its body indicating that it was no longer interested in the fight.

The wolf followed the cat in giving up the fight. The two were covered in blood with their bodies in very bad shape.

The cat communicated that it was no longer an ervant and the wolf had no option but to accept.

Trouble came when none of the two wanted to give up the den to the other. Although the den was not in the best location, it was not easy to find and most predators left the place alone.

The two almost resumed their fight before the cat proposed sharing the den. The wolf was about to refuse but it remembered that it was on its limits, if the cat chose to fight again, it would most likely lose. The wolf agreed to share but on the condition that the cat help in expanding the den and when finished, the cat was not to interrupt the wolf in its cultivation.

The two beasts spent two weeks licking their wounds with each of the beasts trying to heal faster to avoid being attacked by the other while still injured.

Fortunately, the two recovered at almost the same time avoiding another conflict. They immediately began expanding the den, carving the rocks with their sharp claws.

The den became almost ten times as large as before with two different chambers.

On the final day of expanding the den, the floor suddenly cracked and fell away with the two beasts falling into the massive hole that had appeared beneath them.

The two beasts fell into a pond of water at the bottom of the hole. The water was fortunately deep enough and the bests sustained no injuries. When the two swam to the surface of the pond, they realized that there seemed to be a large space under the mountain.

Next to the pond of clear blue water, there was a tiny grass-thatched house that had a tiny blue wooden door.

While in the water, the white wolf noticed that it was not in normal water. This water seemed to contain a high concentration of world qi.

The wolf circulated its cultivation technique and to its joy, massive quantities of world qi entered its body increasing its cultivation.

A small whirlpool formed around the wolf and this alerted the black cat that had focused on the hut not noticing the world qi in the water. The cat immediately used a technique of its own that sucked in the world qi at almost the same speed as the wolf. As if in competition with each other, the wolf circulated its technique to the limit absorbing even more world qi creating a whirlpool far greater than the cats. At this point, the cat seemed to give up on the competition pretending to not have seen anything. The two cultivated and soon, the black cat broke through to the third realm of beast cultivation, the Purification Realm. This realm is equivalent to the peak of the Origin realm. In this realm, the beasts purified their gathered qi as much as possible in preparation for the Xiantian Realm .

When the cat broke through, it felt as though it was all-powerful. The bloated sense of power made it grin with evil intent as it looked at the wolf.

At this moment, the white wolf also broke through to the seventh realm of the human path, the Skin refinement realm.

With this increase in power, the black cat lost some of its confidence but soon, it regained the dark thoughts of attacking.

As it was preparing to attack, the wolf broke through again to the eighth stage of human cultivation the Sense Organ Refinement

When the cat saw this, its thoughts settled down for it knew that the wolf at this stage was enough to fight with its cultivation . The cat was puzzled about how the wolf was able to break through twice in a matter of minutes .

The two cultivated for two weeks nonstop before the word qi in the pond was used up leaving just normal water . By the end of the cultivation session, the wolf was about to break through a third time to reach the ninth stage, the Brain Refinement realm .

The two got out of the pond but each of them wanted to attack the other in hopes of probably defeating the other and getting a good, although untrustworthy servant .

They walked towards the hut with tension in the air . When they reached the hut, the wolf pushed the door open and the two entered side by side not wanting the other to get some advantage over the other by entering first.
